I'm super excited for Destiny and will be playing much of it but I'll definitely still play Dust. Bungie is putting as much into the PvP as they are into the PvE and it should be a great game on both fronts.
Dust and Destiny will be different games. Destiny will have a HUGE exploration element with a PvE element relate-able to Borderlands and Dark Souls except with much more individual customization and non-randomized gear though still a huge variety. Fireteams(squads) consist of 3 and I expect PvP to be a much more intimate affair, such as 6 vs. 6 or the like. Dust is more about a future warzone with armies battling, where Destiny is more like a high tech survival/Fallout situation. In Destiny every class can use every weapon, in Dust the specialization makes it unique.
I plan on continuing to play Dust as long as CCP keeps trying, I like it very much, though when Destiny drops, I may be awol for a bit.

"Magic" is just technology not yet understood.
You should learn more about what they claim their story is.

If you are considering Destiny, please don't use the info found in this thread. Half of the responses are completely uninformed and/or totally made up. I encourage you to go elsewhere to get informed.
Destiny will be an online only, shared world shooter with a persistent 10 year online support plan. They will have daily, weekly, monthly, scheduled, and unscheduled events. As I said in my previous post in this thread, I'm very excited for Destiny but intend to continue playing Dust as they are very different games.
Regardless anyone can play for free and decide for themselves. Simply go to Gamestop put $5 on a preorder and get your beta code. Put that beta code into Bungie.net. At this point, even if you cancel you preorder and get your $5 back or applied to another sale, you are enrolled in the beta through Bungie.net. If you go through Amazon, they don't charge your card until the game ships and will send your beta code via email within two weeks. If you play the beta and don't like the game, simply cancel your preorder before launch.
