RP in DUST is dead for many reasons:
- Nobody has a clue about how canon lore works. People constantly make references to real life that shouldn't even exist(Earth, Pre-New Eden history, f*cking hashtags for example).
- People can't distinguish IC from OOC, which ends up with cases where the OPs post was clearly IC which just ended having OOC responses, or was OOC and instead of being reported and moved to the appropriate place, had IC replies and just made the whole thing confusing. OOC bleedout happens a ton as well, where OOC opinions are translated to IC opinions about the character the person is controlling. This leads me to point three
- Everybody also jumps on the assumption that Legion's announcement also happened IC, which there has not even been a hint about such a thing IC. This also brings me to point number four
- RP etiquette is virtually non-existent. People just barge in on a thread that is clearly a topic in Galnet, and suddenly pretends it's a physical locale where they do stuff. It pisses me off so much. Finally, point number five which infuriates me the most
- CCP has not moved a finger towards the RP crowd for well over a year. The IGS was created solely because people were constantly whining about it, and I can't even remember when the last chronicle was published. There's been a few "events" that had RP flavortext, but had absolutely nothing to actually advance anything remotely similar to a storyline like in EVE. There hasn't even been DUST related news of any kind for half a year to talk about, which has devolved this place further to just random people stabbing each other with knives while getting p*ss-drunk at a bar.
I'm not sure why I even held out as long as I did, this place is hopeless.
