I have nothing really to add beyond that. I just get tired of seeing relentless QQ and "nerf pls" threads.
Yup, you got a lot of stuff to do. Whatever.
Keep it up, thanks for making this game. I've played it longer and harder than any other FPS ever (and that's a lot of them, I'm 42 years old!).
I gave you money before, i'll be doing it again, I'm pretty sure.

If players really hated the game they would just quit.
People who QQ about everything must like the game and don't want to quit because they use the forums rant about what makes them sad.

The forums are kind of a weird place. You always rant to those you trust and forums create a false lull in people's distrust. So you get a lot of QQ. I'm guessing.
Personally I don't rant anymore (or I try not to) after I posted a half-angry, half-sarcastic post awhile ago and it exploded with a bunch of angry comments that made me feel bad. T.T lesson learned. CCP, we don't deserve you. So thank you for everything you have done for us, the game, and the video game industry.
btw, some QQ are fun to read, like the misspelled, slightly incoherent ones.

I was without internet for a few months. Once I got over my initial dust addiction, I had very little reason to want to come back.

We don't hate Dust. We love it.
We want it to get better.

If we didn't care about Dust, we wouldn't frequent the forums and try to make this game better through the medium the devs have provided us.

But...but...so many skill points, just sitting there...wasted!
Well, I've compared this game to a girlfriend before. You don't marry, you date, because you should never wait for "potential" to become a reality.
However, I really enjoy the skills (though I wish I could plan days and weeks instead of months, but that's the deal, right?), and just generally the folks I play with. Frankly, I constantly play with fittings and the skill tree, I think that's my addiction!

I've never been able to get into any other FPS for more than a day or two. I get bored of the PvE, get my butt handed to me in PvP, get frustrated and simply stop playing. That's with games I've actually paid for.
Dust has kept my attention for almost 2 years now.
I still get my behind kicked repeatedly in PvP (and I'm sure I'll get bored of the PvE once its introduced), but despite that the game makes me care enough to keep playing.
