Like all other modules, if you deactivate your cloak early you should still have to wait for the full cool down before using it again.
Sprinting should drain your cloak faster.
Bumping into someone should drop your cloak.
I do not believe that scouts were meant to be so combat focused as they are now. The addition of the second equipment slot has given scouts too much offensive flexibility. Stacking hp while cloaked and still being faster than most other suits, while also able to passive scan targets and carry remote explosives. Where exactly is the scout in that? Sounds more like what the commando should've been honestly. |

while cloaked, they lose mini-map, all extended precision, range skills and dampening modules due to electromagnetic interference. Shimmering should increase in intensify as movement increases.
Or they lose sprint, jump and stamina sets to zero. |

I'm not in favor of gimping them because they're cloaked. It's the cloak in combination with everything else that bothers me. It's free invisibility mode. Having high pg/CPU costs is not balancing the fact that the scout suits gain superior combat effectiveness at virtually zero cost. Eve online doesn't allow this kind of abuse, so why is it ok in dust 514? |

All this talk about nerfing the cloak just pisses me off, the cloak is NOT an instant win button, as everyone seems. The cloak is easily visible if the player with the cloak is moving, and the scouts can be easily killed to a few shots. The cloak also is NOT used as a guns blazing sort of weapon as it requires you to flank and get the drop on unsuspecting soldiers. The scout also increases the need for scanners to detect them.
However I do agree that the cloak/shotgun combo and the armor stacking in kinda OP. But to equip armor plates you need to spend about 1 mil sp to reduce the fitting cost of the cloak. Overall I feel that the cloak is quite balanced, fun to use, and extremely useful.
Stop hating on the scout just because it finally has some way to kill you!

Is there anything else someone could do and gain WP besides combat (except if you play as logi)? There is nothing but hacking that and this and destroying some equipment. So, oft course the scout should be "combat-able"
And the cloak itself is not OP as people seem to think. It's a mixture of mostly unaware players, shotgun, brick-tanking and cloaks. To me it would be ok to give scouts a higher penalty for stacking heavy plates and if flux-nades would uncloak the user.

It's awesome to see I actually see the day people complain about scouts.
Invisibility mode? You should get some glasses... or some new eyes. You can still see them. And if he sneaks up on you... well... would you believe me when I tell you that anybody could have killed you ifhe sneaked up on you?

The cloak is fine. No one argues that except that you shouldn't be able to spam your cloak on and off. There should be a delay before reactivation. Also, the scouts don't always render while sprinting. They can shoot while cloaked too. The cloak drops obviously but they're still cloaked when they fire the first shot. You need two shot from the shotgun to kill some heavies so you don't have much room to respond to an ambush.
You can't see them, and you can't outrun them. Maybe sprinting should drop the cloak too. The cloak was meant for stealth and movement. Not combat superiority |

The cloak is nearly perfectly balanced, but the armor stacking and shotgunning of the scouts need to stop.
Personally I find that using passive range amplifiers I can get a picture of the battle making me much more effective at flanking and Bolt pistoling my foes into oblivion. However many scouts are hyperactive squirrel people bunny hopping invisibly into the heat of battle and blowing your brains out. The armor stacking and possibly the deactivation time of the cloak do need to be worked out.
And again STOP COMPLAINING that scouts are actually capable to killing people ! XD |
