I don't see a 'rail HMG', but what I do see potentially is a dual rail heavy weapon... where you have two sets of rails mounted one atop the other and it would have a ROF similar to or maybe slightly lower than the combat rifle and about 20-25 dmg per bullet. It'd be designed to be ~medium range of about 40-50m or so and be fairly precise in that range and 'effective' about 20-25m beyond, but not perform extremely well outside of it.
Heat buildup would be a factor on it, and it would probably have about 150 rounds per 'magazine', and a decent scope but not a whole lot of dispersion so it wouldn't be super effective at short range (if you walk around a corner and run into a HMG user, you should get torn apart). It would favor the caldari preference of getting up ontop of buildings and playing heavy ranged point defense. |

According to google, that is from dark souls 2. Anyways, the caldari already have a heavy weapon in the forge gun and I find it unlikely that each race will get more than a single heavy weapon (at least so long as sentinels can carry light weapons).

Just my two cents on how an automatic caldari heavy weapon would work;
would basically be an assault forge gun with rockets
fires at around 120 rounds a minute
AV designed weapon that is still effective with infantry
Fires single swarm rounds without the gyroscope, tracking system or redirection system leaving more explosives whilst being fired using rail tech
Rail gun infront with a rotating barrel behind to collect rockets (UT2004 rocket launcher is a great example)
