So we are now approaching part 5 of the "Gearing up for Conquest" Series. So we decide to move onto the next big thing. Orbitals! Now as it stands FW only allows 1 Orbital every few minutes, assuming a EvE ship is anchored to a district satellite continously.
For Conquest matches this isn't nearly often enough. Not to mention the lack of choice for EvE based orbitals with just 4 types. So how do you think it should be done?
First of all, I personally believe that restrictions on who can make a Orbital Strike EvE side. Now Im not familiar with all the classes of Spaceship, but everything upto the larger battleships should be capable of making strike. Not only that we need a wider variety of guns capable of doing orbital strikes.
Prescision Strikes: Fired by smaller class EvE ships, these Strikes are the smallest in effect no more than 20m in diameter these strikes contain just half a dozen rounds each. Designed specifically to remove vehicles or installations very quickly. These strikes hold the largest damage per m2
Orbital Bombardment: Fired by the like of battleships, these strikes are by far the longest lasting strikes available. While having the lowest damage per m2 the orbita bombardment will deal decent damage to large swathes of the battlefield, often enough to completly decimate entire battle lines. Due to the low accuracy however friendly fire is likely a common occurance if used on front line troops.
Orbital Strikes: Same standard business as now
Orbital Kinetic Strike: These strikes allow also perfect anihaliation of moderately sized area, kinetic strikes have the largest splash damage per round of any strike best used on enemy staging areas these strikes will make mincemeat out of all but the largest of units. However due to the nature of the kinetic strikes velocity it is also by far the longest to set up.
When it comes to setting you no longer need to dock to a satellite, instead you only have to reach a certain distance from orbit, with as many as 4 in orbit at a time . After just a few minutes you may make a strike.

Yeah Im aware but at the same time, it means there are so few strikes available and even less of he EvE ships that are actually worth equiping the relevant turrets to.

Mmmm yeah equipping small turrets to an Apoc and flying into FW space was not one of ym best ideas...... I mean I got out of there are scared the balls out of a frigate pilot, all in all it was pretty damn funny.
Precisely we need more ships going in for strikes and more reasons for space battles to happen above a PC match.
