Over a year on I feel like we've had this conversation before...
Terrain glitches... Poor FPS... Poor hit-detection... Laggy... Poor performance in complexes... Sprint glitches... Rooting... Aiming is still not good enough... Jeeps can't drive over a sand dunes without ending up upside down... Tanks bouncing of each other... Null-cannon hit-box...
Wasn't the monthly releases all about fixing the core FPS elements?

Fixed. Surely some of the things mentioned seem familiar, yes?

Man, earlier today I was going crazy at glitch after glitch ruining my matches and fun.
First of all I get stuck on everything... I swear I get stuck on flat textures!! My crosshairs disappear on my MD and I couldn't fire, then a few seconds later I could fire but saw no animation or anything firing and therefore couldn't see where I was hitting and couldn't aim as well with the MD. Then I'm in a commando, nothing to do with a cloak, no cloak even near my dropsuit, and I'm hearing everything muffled like I'm under water, it's really annoying, this happened until i died, even changing suits didn't fix it! Then in my commando I get stuck in an infinite reloading animation with my MD in the middle of a 1v1, it wouldn't even let me switch to my CR! Then (Ambush!) I get put into the middle of a firefight three times in a row even though there are no uplinks and I get destroyed before I even get a chance to know where I am -> SMART DEPLOY???!! Then I get put into a skirmish match with less than 10% MCC health left on both sides, I just left the battle wihtout even spawning!
None of my corp mates were on but these were my first three games of the day and I just felt like quitting and playing something else, SOOOOO FRUSTRATING!!!

I am really afraid that CCP might get the impression that the core mechanics and quality of Dust are now in a state where they can afford to not concentrate all their efforts into fixing basic stuff and develop new content instead. While new content might bring new players and old players back, only a quality game will make them stay.
@JebusMcKing // TIERICIDE, just do it, CCP.

CCP are too busy hyping up their latest games (EVE: Valkyrie right now), they keep forgetting to patch their current released games. |

Got killed tonight by a guy with bullets traveling backwards from his gun's barrel. Shot many people many times and dealt no damage. Got into an extreme CQC fight with a guy in a Templar Assault suit and he literally disappeared "not cloaked, just disappeared) after taking no damage from my shotgun and Ion Pistol. Sprint glitch every match. Shot through walls by a guy with a turbo controller. Repeatedly trying to use a piece of equipment only to have it autoswitch to a weapon and fire it over a minute-long period. Ion Pistol popping in my hand as soon as I switch to it, before even firing or popping with a single uncharged shot. Jumping down into a letter and falling through the floor into the abyss. Being told the Assault HMG is a weapon. Getting more frustrated than usual tonight. |

I thought they said they were going to keep doing the monthly fixes until they had decent core FPS mechanics, I guess they moved the goalposts on what exactly decent core FPS mechanics is...

Warframe Updates near weekly.
A long time thought to be slain bug; the Ancient Retribution Error is back in Warframe after 4 updates of not seeing it and it's back with a vengeance dropping at max energy level of 15, percept polarity, and stacks of 99.
New players who never seen it drop before are wondering why this phantom module doesn't exist.
You'd think after all the core updates they'd fix that?
bottom line software development is a weird animal. Darwin wouldn't be able to analogize the process.

But this can also be down to sloppy programming and project management, and rotating new programmers who have no project history into the development team. I'm aware that software development is a very tricky task especially when so regularly making incremental changes BUT at the same time, this can all be avoided with a very good project manager and a good testing team - No external test server is necessary, an internal and local test server would suffice to find game-breaking errors such as dropsuits not having skill applied for the first 5 minutes of a match. Before anyone comments on internet lag emulation, game-lag and wait-times can be very easily emulated on internal test servers and is done all the time.
