I prefer standard to breach as i've got the timing of each shot down to muscle memory now and the breach throws me off. I haven't tried assault. Maybe hit up Pyrex to make a video if he hasn't already? https://www.youtube.com/user/CEOPyrex Well, when we get our event sp im getting mass driver from 1 to 5 prof 3

EverNub wrote:Been running Mass Driver Since Early Chrome. Its changed alot but the new Dmg and Hit detection feels better then it was in 1.7
I recommend the standard version (Exo-5 or Freedom) Unless you want to hold down a location and your just spamming shots or still not used to the angles you want to go with the assault for bigger AoE. Elevation is huge also gotta stay on top of people like buildings or hills to really get the best hit detection. Well thanks, want a vid though, but is having level 5 mass driver noticible from lvl 1? Also, of course you did nub

Martin0 Brancaleone wrote:Been using the mass driver since closed beta (fell in love with it when i oneshotted a scout through a window <3). The mass driver is working very well, it is most effective in closed maps. The assault MD is more area denial, use it to encourage the enemy team to split, if they don't you will get a bunch of +50 very fast The standard MD is awesome, oneshotting scouts with direct hits is soooooo fun Always carry nanohives with you and flux grenades. But does the assault have better dos and does it have hiher reserve ammo or clip size?

Totally agree with Martin0. Don't dump a lot of points in it until you are sure you'll stick with it. Everyone goes "oh it's a noob tube" at first until they start seeing it's shortcomings.
Elevation is your friend when you have it and an unforgiving #!$#: when you don't. Also by very conscious of your remaining ammo and reload whenever you have a chance. That barrel spin is awesome as hell...unless you find yourself in the middle of a firefight. If you are crossing a road and I'm shooting at you always remember jumping never helps. It just gives a nice bullseye to line up for when you land. Im using it for fun and going to use a scout ck.0 on it when it get it protod

Booby Tuesdays wrote:The MD really only begins to shine with proficiency and damage mods. That said, on a min commando they become down right scary. The breach is extremely underused and a great AV weapon. With my MD proficiency 5 proto min commando I do about 570 dmg to shields and 660 to armor. You just have to be extremely accurate against infantry if you're going pure AV and a random red comes to hunt you down. Very rewarding to one shot that red with the breach.
The standard MD is a better all around weapon than the assault imho. You get less rounds in the clip and ammo reserve, but it has a much better direct hit and splash combo. It also seems that the dirt and smoke effect is back to help disorient foes foolish enough to run directly into the line of fire.
Join the in game channel Massholes. Sure, you can shoot at peoples feet, but you won't out DPS anything 1v1 that way. We are more than happy to teach the ins and outs of this fun but quirky weapon! Strafing and jumping can out dps it? But I'll join, never used noobtubes in games exept mw2, to see how broken it was

Oh god yes. You don't even need to hop around. Point at any MD user and you will kill them before they get their third shot off. Most definitely not a noob tube. Takes considerable skill to be really effective with it. Anyone can lay down blanket spam to AoD an area. Winning 1v1 is what takes practice. I meant if I jump and strafe with a md...

You'll lose 1v1 90% of the time due to being out DPS'd. Unless you flux them first. This is why the flux is the MD's bff. I plan to use it with a cloak Trolls for everyone

Well with a std md kvl 1 I went 9-1, 3rd on scoreboard, not too much to kill
