As im really bored at work (3 month hand over workstack is empty lol :-P)
And i want to promote the fictional side of dust more as the RP communty normally gets ignored.
I would like a discussion on how people feel about pure fluff events run by player volunteers that the cpmmunty could interact with,
For example i rouge group of caldari go on a sabotage spree and in the special contracts tab a people need to win a certain amount of matches or the price of assult rilfes go up.
Thoughts on this. Im typing on a phone sorry for poor English

CCP has been cautious about using player volunteers for any kind of live events, if I remember right it was mainly due to their lack of control on what they may or may not do, they are not getting paid for it after all. If players are going to run any events, they have to organize it using only their own resources. And the thing is, player run events in DUST are very difficult to do due to our restricted movement and ability to select specific contracts. The few events that have been run by players in DUST(Kane's orbital strike tournament, Thunderdome etc.) have either involved pre-Uprising FW or PC, where you have at least some control over the battle and where you fight it.
But I agree, having that kind of fluff events would be good, as long as we can get the necessary tools to organize such things.

I think k something like this would have to wait till trading or a market. Players could have a loyalist list and only do business with those mercs on the list or that can prove their standings in FW. I don't know how else a player run event would work.

Their is a special contracts tab i know can be used for custom matches but that requires ccp involvement. Im more thinking creating a cross group that work with ccp on these things to bring a little more life to dust.
But for clarity im thinking in the future ideas we can work towords. Matrix online is a perfect example of where it worked really well to the point it became its main selling point :-)
