A few ideas for improving NPE.
Arms Control: My view of New Eden there certain populated areas under govenment/corporation/police(concord) jurisdiction. In these areas Proto weapons and gear should be banned. Like an assault weapons ban IRL. Besides that, think about it, how many prototype supercars do you see driving around public streets IRL?
Choose where you fight: I guess this is happening in PC and somewhat FW, but there is a huge starmap and I should have a choice where and whom I fight. (unless I'm being ambushed). Not ready to go against the hardest of the hard then chill in a higher security area. Also, how do I get around the universe? I'm magically being transported everywhere?
But ya know what, maybe my choices should be limited: Perhaps new players are "employed" by an NPC corp in a more realistic fashion. Does "Lai Dai Protection Services" actually protect anything? Doesn't seem like it. Also, any new job that forces me to purchase my first uniform is not a job I'd be taking. |

I understand very well it's what the wealthy wage against the "poor" on daily basis and you should save it for the communities you are gentrifying IRL. The reason it won't work is because there is no functioning working class in New Eden to create the wealth for the rest of the universe.
Don't you have a google bus to catch somewhere? |

Something tells me any Minmatar would take issue with that statement pretty severly. One might say the fat rich Amarr are going to continue to be bled out because they keep doing the same things that made them that way.......by that I mean a corpse :) |

Maximos Forcus wrote:Asking for an ISK and asset reset is the same as asking for a complete restart of the game, as they are the principal element of the game-environment, the "EVE-DUST universe".
Not wiping it will not make the rich richer, nor the poor poorer. It will actually allow the poor to make some ISK out of weapons that will not significantly help them make more ISK or be more than marginally better on the battlefield. This is effectively the same discussion as PRO vs. STD/MLT. Not fun maybe, but part of the game.
If the market domination is beneficial to the "rich few", which is what I gather fro your responses, then a reset will not help "the poor" at all. Corporations will hold districts, making money faster than any corp only running battles. Lone mercs will suffer even more. In the end, it is about the ability to make ISK. So you would need a full reset of everything.
Then, once DUST gets connected to EVE, allowing for player-exchange, do you reset EVE? You think that makes sense?
My main issue with a market is that there is no crafting. I can't speak for the how things work EVE side, and perhaps this would be solved when dust meets space and we're all starstuff, but right now with my boots firmly on the ground and we aren't creating anything. Right now all assets are generated by magic out of nowhere. "cept maybe salvage. but that's not enough to keep any kind of market going. We are major intergalactic corporations with a whole universe of workers to exploit and/or enslave. We can produce goods at a much larger scale then some blacksmith in a hut somewhere chowing down on spider legs. When the production facilites actually start producing things.....then we'll have an actual marketplace. |

Redistributing wealth is more than just passing money around. It's about putting the means/abilities of production into the hands of everyone. There are no means of production in Dust outside of clone farming and those facilities are definitely in the hands of an elite few. No amount of isk transfering will remedy that until more areas of space are opened up and everyone is given a chance at production and to sink or swim on their own after that. It's just a lack of functionality in the game that I'm sure will be greatly imrpoved upon when both worlds merge. |

One of my main problems isn't that players are "rich" ( equals constant proto in my mind) ... it's that they're EVERYWHERE and in almost every match! Stop slumming it with the rest of us.
I realize top corps remain on top because of the tight squads they run and the tactics they use. It's frustrating, but also cool to see that type of play, even if it's from who is about to kill you. I'm just confused as to why you want to drive your Ferarri down my pothole riddled street in the slums of Molden Heath. I'm forced to be around a bunch of yuppie/rich pricks in my real neighborhood who "do what they want 'cuz they can" over the last few years and I sure don't need to see any more in my fantasy life.
ISK wipe for sure, but a market really means nothing until crafting and recourse managment comes into play. |

I see your point, but where else do we go? PC battles are far from constant and FW reward is with LP. Those are useless.
Perhaps if we got rewarded with ISK instead of LP and having a good rating with a certain faction reduced the isk cost of racial items AND we got team deploy AND the rewards for winning were always in the millions.
I never really understood the need for LP either. It seemed like a way to give us a push toward FW, but the actual benefits of LP are minor. I agree that making ISK discounted items available and maintaining some sort of loyalty standings that grant different benefits over time is important to FW. Maybe no LP style discount but much larger payouts for FW would be more encouraging? Something in the current PC range. Different match types and the types of enemies killed should offer greater ISK rewards as well.
I continue to reiterate that a maket without* a means of production is inherently flawed and meaningless. It will really be just another menu screen to navigate without any real imact on anyone's pocketbook. After the initial flood of rare items is over we'll be back to the same cycle we are in now. |

I forgot to answer you. Where should you go? Once the universe is expanded to the rest of the EVE universe .... anywhere you want :)
.....even if it's to come back and give me a friendly kick to the teeth |
