I and others took offence at DNSBlack's claim that he was the "only CSM candidate that cares about the eve/dust link" which is just categorically untrue. I reached out to Sugar Kyle and offered to facilitate a response should she so wish.
G I A N T has been in MH since the OB mechanic was launched and have become quite familiar with the local pirates, even more so since joining General Tso's Alliance and tricking them into moving operations down to Dust PC land. 7-2 and Sugar Kyle have been based in MH since long before PC so rudely moved in. She is passionate about lowsec, runs her own market there and has seen first hand the growth/change that has happened in the region because of Dust.
Sugar Kyle is a 3XXXD endorsed candidate (as is DJFunkyBacon for his activity and views on FW/Dust) for CSM 9 because of her passionate views on lowsec in general and Dust specifically. So while I do encourage you to place her at the top of your ballot if you are also an Eve player, I encourage you more so to look at the candidates and form your own opinion and not take words and statements at face value.
Please execute your right chose and cast your vote (should you have one) for the candidates you feel will best represent yourself and the game(s).
*To be clear those ^ are my words and mine alone.
DNSBlack DNS wrote:Please watch the link and feel the power of the Blackness https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zu5B4W27XwI am willing to talk to any group wanting in on the ground floor to help write New Eden history. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=326674&find=unreadI am also running for csm this year. I am the only candidate that cares about the eve/dust link and could use your support in fighting the good fight. I know a lot of you have old eve characters that are inactive. Just sub for 1 month vote and let me be your voice at CCP and make this link mean more for both of us.
Sugar Kyle's statement follows.
Hi there. I was asked to respond to a question about my opinions and thoughts on Dust 514 as an Eve player running for CSM9.
First of all, I gave Hans my Dust codes from my Collectors Edition.
Dust is a very touchy subject in the Eve crowd these days. There are Eve players who feel that it should be abandoned and Dust players that are frustrated with CCPGÇÖs movement in the matter. I was asked my opinion on Dust by one of Molden HeathGÇÖs resident Dust corporations and how I saw Dust as someone running for the CSM.
What about Dust? It is not the basis of my CSM run. I am an Eve player and I am not going to insult anyone with falsehoods about my time spent playing Dust. However, it is a part of low sec. I spend the bulk of my in-game time in Molden Heath where Planetary Conquest was released. I like the concept of Dust. I am not a FPS player but I like the integrated universe concept and I feel that it has been poorly implemented. Instead of intertwining the Eve and Dust story and information we have two games running side by side with the occasional rope thrown between them. This equates to massive amounts of lost opportunity and lost interest. Eve players do not understand how the Dust universe works and how the Dust universe interacts with their own when it comes to Faction Warfare and Planetary Conquest. This is a ball dropped by CCP. As long as they ignore the connection and donGÇÖt give Eve players more information about Eve/Dust events they will continue to have an unfortunate gap.
I tend to play Dust to get inspiration for fiction writing. Sugar Ranier is my Dust character. You can check her creation date. Being a military science fiction fan, Dust intrigues me as a topic to write about and IGÇÖve used it as a basis for a short story I wrote after Fanfest last year and another I submitted to the Pod and Planet fiction contest last October. The links all have dates and start with my lack of knowledge about Dust and follow the progression as it has become part of my day to day.

Why doesn't Sugar Kyle post on the Dust forums herself with her toon? Has Feigned Disorder moved to incorporate Dusters directly into the alliance on a large scale?
I know DNSdot Eve side has really enjoyed duking it out with Calamitous Intent, but I'd still like to voice up with Sugar Kyle to get a feel for her attitude. Cookie, you are a cool cat and the only reason that the relationship between NF and 3XXXD lasted as long as it did especially with vibe I got from General Tso's was Dust being a burden. Have you talked with Sugar Kyle on voice and did you get a sense of passion from that conversation especially concerning Dust?
Honestly, I would say make sure you have Sugar Kyle and DNSBlack on your ballots (the beauty of the STV system). The more people on the CSM that actually care about Dust the better.
Free Beers, I would say voice up with DNSBlack and decide for your self. I kept hearing about Dirt Nap Squad. in various conversation and heard about limited hot drops and the fact that his son played Dust. It wasn't until I actually talked to the guy that my opinion was set.

I have only noticed DNSBlack in Molden Heath for the past week and a half, living in Teonusude station.
Before that there was only about four or five pilots from DNS Alliance in all of Molden Heath, and all were new members from Dust related corps - post AE and friends merger into DNS.
My first reaction to DNS picking up AE and friends was "Wow we are going to get 50+ stealth ships dropped on us".
After about 3 weeks of Ostrike fleets, we usually saw 2-3 DNS pilots, always the same guys. We Black Ops dropped them for some irony.
http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=22685516
I cannot honestly comment on DNSBlack's true intentions. But my personal opinion is that he has used AE and friends success in PC as an advertising platform for FanFest and his CSM Campaign. Which is fine, good politics.
AE and friends have done something pretty amazing, and nice move on DNS's part for free advertising.

I offered to facilitate, she excepted.
You've said that before and didn't answer my response, maybe this time?

Really? Care to present ANYTHING other than the ONE EVE player's comment that Dust was a "burden"? Thats what you are referring to right? The guy that only made an account to troll in a post, the guy that said he was only posting to cause trouble for me to clean up (<3 you Salid)? Do you have ANYTHING to back that up beyond that one remark that you you instantly fell for and jumped all over? You really are stretching pretty thin on your defence of the situation and your meta accusations.
No I have not voiced with her...we have exchanged a few eve mails a ways back discussing her views on Eve/Dust, I've been an occasional reader of her blog for quite a while and I've listened to all her CSM 9 interviews. And of coarse we've had a ton of gudfights with her and 7-2. |

I think the relationship is as follows, 7-2 has been in MH pre-PC if I recall and they weren't in great shape but DUST brought them things to kill and a reason to stay active, like an Anti-DUST, and the people trying to drop OBs were bringing fights which helped them grow and become a better group whereas DNS has only jumped in as of late and is seeming to do what beers is saying and I'm going to call BS.

She does seem the stronger candidate for us Dusters to get behind. As much as I enjoy DNS being around - it's not been long enough to give them any sort of claim to anything involving links between the games. However, that's not to say they aren't full sailing down that road now and wouldn't be very progressive towards bringing our games together.
Not that, any of this honestly matters to 90% of us. We know, that in the end, everything that comes from EvE is just words. No matter whose elected the progression of the two games linking closer isn't likely to speed up or be any smoother - as CCP does w/e the hell it wants.
So as much as I'm happy to see EvE guys start poking around here - none of you are doing it for the benefit of Dust or it's players. So the topic of CSM in war room is silly. There's many 10 or 20 people with EvE accounts here you'd be able to grab votes from. If that's enough to tip the scales of EvE CSM voting then Dust is more ****** then I thought. Lol |

Kane by now you should know I'm a action type person. Hans is my standard when it comes to Eve nerds caring about dust. He spent many of nights squading with imps and every other corp he could to understand the players and the game. DNS Black fell into a room full of leaders that bought into his Dust fanboying at the right time.
Also as a former nullsec diplo i am conditioned to leaders saying stuff simply for moral, motivation, propaganda and all round bullshit.

seriously. eve players coming to dust forums to drum up votes/politics/fanfest dates any more than something out of sheer boredom?
is there really nothing left to discuss/troll/trash talk in dust that we now resort to caring about eve politics?
until this game gets unbroken, and significant improvements made to the game itself, the rest is all simply people trying to pull the shades over the ever dwindling player base.
yes im sure numbers have increased with the new patch, but the same lack of action from CCP to fix the things they broke with the new patch is just more reinforcement that no one really cares. just a pile of dust nerds (myself included) that cant find anything else to play....damn you sony

Sugar Kyle has my vote, she's my drug dealer, her corp has killed me many times, despite that, I talk to her a lot.
DNSBLACKs plans seem to turn the game more gladiatorish, he wants ladders and rankings, he's a sports coach in real life so I could see why he would want that.
Sugar Kyle on the otherhand wants more interaction between dust and eve, is avaialable all the time and doesn't hold any one alliances interest in the game over anothers, several players have approached them for orbital help, for the most part they have been nuetral.
Both candidates are good.
Both have my vote but sugar Kyle will take 1st.

Sounds like GTA is trying to buy their way into having some powerfull allies in MH. Of course you wouldnt vote for the people who removed your entire alliance from the dust map, and from EVE MH space. Both candidates show and interest in Dust, one has formed an alliance and is actively helping Dust players, the other realizes with more Dust guys creating EVE pilots, that her Corp and Alliance Kill Boards will be inflated by more unsuspecting noobs. So, vote for the one who has acted to help Dust/EVE connections, or vote for the one who chases you off the satelites regardless of whos team your on. Your call

I dunno about you but some of us do like the military aspect of the game and don't want it turned into a sport, which apparently hedoes. Hence when he has 100% control his plan is to make a tournament for Dust. Basically as will attack escrow and both sides will have ringers, dns keeps the district and the isk and in turn you get a corp tournament...innovative and organized, yes. Where I want the game to go, nope...
That said he did say he wanted expansion beyond mh, but I think sugar Kyle is the best candidate, take the time to talk with her and you'll see.

Just to clarify - I like Sugar Kyle's views on lowsec beyond any other candidate. I also like Psychotic Monk's perspective on high sec shenanigans, so he gets my second slot. Followed by DJ Funkybacon for siding with Erotica1.
I'm certainly not interested in allying with 7-2 as they have brought the best space fights to the table that we've ever had in MH. Sitting on a beacon to kill 4 Maulus (Mauli?) and a Coercer is fun from time to time, but 7-2 is where to go for a great brawl. Bluing them would make the region boring.
The biggest issue I have with the DNSBlack situation is the claim that he is the only CSM candidate that cares about Dust, which is a flat-out lie. That and him taking Ripard's side with the Ero1 situation didn't sit well with me or my Alliance. And the arena/gladiator PC concept. Ew..
All that being said, I love watching DNSBlack at the Alliance panel at fanfest; he's a genuinely funny guy and must be a blast to have a beer with, but his views on Dust/EVE are what I'm voting for. If we voted for people that we'd like to "have a beer with" instead of their opinions then we'd end up with an incompetent as president of the US. Oh wait... ;)

Well yes that possibility is there too, but do you really want someone on Eve side supporting a cracker jack box of an idea like the one Djinn Kujo is responsible for? Arena fighting is all fine and good for those players who are afraid of teamwork but if thats what PC was made for then this must be another version of COD...go back to COD Kujo and leave the rest of us to our team battles.

Well said. Maybe DNS worded himself incorrectly, what he should have said is he is the first person who is running for CSM that is in an alliance made up of over 50% Dust players.
The amount of EVE players that are concerned about Dust, and vice Versa, are a small fraction of each individual games targetted audiences. So, people should mainly focus on what the CSM Candidates views are for EVE
