Fanfest is coming, guys. And I get the distinct feeling it's gonna be a doozy.
We'll be learning about the next named Dust expansion, and more than likely the next Eve one too. Last year, us pod pilots heard the name of our summer expansion in early March (IIRC), and we've heard nothing but a few suggested changes thus far. The fact that CCP is waiting this long to reveal the Eve expansion - in particular, that they're waiting to do it at the same time as the Dust expansion - suggests to me that both games' reveals will contain big news about the Link, which I can't wait to see.
I put trust in the post by CPM Hans from a while ago (can't be bothered to find it) saying that CCP's relative silence about Dust of late does in fact mean large amounts of productivity are going on. We haven't heard a peep from Rouge since his introduction, we know nothing of any advances to vehicles, FW, PC, or anything else. As frustrated as I am at that (like many of you), like Saberwing said, why would they tell us anything big when their biggest event is just weeks away?
CCP wouldn't stay silent for this long without good reason, I know that. Devs and CPM alike who are in the know about things to come seem very excited about it, and I bet they feel a bit like this guy did up until this reveal. I might even go so far as to predict such major announcements as full racial vehicles of all kinds, PC 2.0, FW 3.0, PVE, PVE with an Eve connection, or even Tiericide.
And of course, that's to say nothing of Valkyrie, for which I expect to hear a release date. I'm also curious if CCP has changed their approach to the Oculus version in light of the recent Facebook acquisition (protip CCP, I will not be buying a Rift now).
Just wait, mercs. Wait three more weeks. We waited three months for 1.8, we can wait one more to hear the big plans. I still have hope, at least for those three more weeks.
To Saberwing I say keep up the good work. You community bros are basically scapegoats at times like this, but I and many others appreciate what you do to try and keep the mob orderly. o7
And there's my CCP-apologist rant for tonight.
