Let's review the points.
The Unholy Legion of DarkStar =1,375 Members
-8.82 Billion ISK required to theoretically attack all districts at once. -1300 people can run 10 games of normal ambush in an hour during a 100% tax day. Doing so earns 1.95 Billion isk per hour for the corporation. -Matches can end even faster if several dedicated players suicide a match

The next big war will most likely trigger after fanfest build when hords of vets come back tp try out this promised land. And kain quickly loses control of corp leaders who dont want to play nice.

Except for all those other times when numbers didn't win the war....
I know from putting all the members of another large corp I was in on my contacts list and watching activity that only about 20% of 300 of that corps members got more then 1 kill during a week and only about 20 of those got more than 200 kills.
Maybe other corps are different to one degree or another, but my point stands, numbers mean jack if you can't field 16 good players and win a battle.

Tactics win battles but logistics wins wars. I love this kind of thinking. I hope you guys can do it with clone packs that aren't utter crap though.

That's why it's nice the clone pack are an 'inexpensive' 36 million compared to the 80 million clone packs for 200 clones Kane Spero is proposing....
Kane Spero's suggestions
Kain Spero wrote:I think we all realise that Planetary Conquest has some holes in it still and I think simple changes could be made to dramatically improve how PC 1.0 plays out. The current situation I think exemplifies some of the numerous issues from clone pack size to passive ISK being better than fighting. I have a series of proposed ideas that I'd like to hear the community's thoughts on.
- 1. Increase Clone Pack Size to 200 Clones at 80 (or 60) million ISK a piece. Alternate option is go back to 150 clones at 45 million ISK.
- 2. Turn off clone auto sale or reduced passive clone sales to 60k and increase biomass from battle to 160k
- 3. Make it where you only get ISK for clones killed in battle, which will tie up some loose ends potential locking for profit.
- 4. Make clone moves a minimum of 200 clones so that a district is weakened when an attack is launched and help minimize the snowball effect of owning many many districts.
- 5. Explore the idea of opening another Region of space in Dust 514 Planetary Conquest to spur activity, but only if the issues with passive ISK are addressed.
- 6. Implement a district transfer function so that a corporation doesn't have to use a clone pack to get into PC and also open up possibilities in terms of how conflicts are resolved outside of battle. (Probably can't be done in a hotfix)
- 7. Add an option at the end of battle to liquidate loot for ISK, so that even when a battle is lost you still have a way to make ISK out of it or come close to breaking even (Probably can't be done in a hotfix). Alternate idea is to just give some amount of ISK even when losing.
- 8. Add the ability for any Eve pilot to connect to a district and fire for either team. This would allow freedom of association when it comes to alliance membership and allow Dust matches to be content for all of New Eden.
- 9. Add the ability to bring up the map for upcoming battle while in the War Barge. (Probably can't be done in a hotfix)
- 10. Make attacks generate mail notifications like defenses currently do.

not going to happen ^^
even if darkstar wanted into pc it's a waste of effort, let's pretend the AE alliance didn't show up to any pc fights and let you have every single district without a fight.
they would then enjoy the process of taking them back from you, while dark star would get burnt out from the attacks.
morale of the story even if you want in PC AE obviously wants it more then you, you are just giving them what they want, bragging rights and a fight.
this is sadly true of just about ever corp currently in dust, at least the ones not already within the AE alliance. |

Yup all those times those superior numbers were bottle necked into arbitrary 16 vs 16 fights....... thats how the Spartan's did it at Thermopylae....

Yes, the best you can hope for with a force of Xerxes is a long drawn out endurance battle with the enemy in multiple coordinated 16 v 16 combat zones.

Fixed.
Being optimistic on those numbers since in a bit it will most likely be 2 versus 3 or just ONE versus NONE.

Funnily enough i managed to lure Josh out of his man cave for a few moments recently with the promise of pop tarts and hemp where we discussed the potential all out attack on Moldey Hatch.
We then realised that we have lives and do go out and touch boobs from time to time so given the 'crying baby' mechanic that relies on quite a large group of people not having jobs, lives, souls, brains we are going to pass.
To think, we lost corp battles for PC - makes me want to cry, anyone remember our corp 'ARSE LAB' sessions? ahhh such good times trying to load a tank onto 2 dropships and take off.......
