- I am still hoping for PC to be fixed with the upcoming Fanfest build.

Don't care if I win or lose.
Don't really care how much Isk I get.
Don't care about SP anymore.
I care about stalking my prey, and putting Sniper rounds down range.
Getting close enough to Remote Explode someone is icing on the cake.
Handing out millions of Isk to those in need is also good. (but not today, so don't ask)

I actually like Arcade Shooter competition (Halo, Battlefield, Battlefront etc.). I like the added persistence, stat sheet progression, resource management... I like the potential 'full world sci-fi simulation' MMO scheduled for SOON(tm).

It's more convoluted than any other console shooter I can think of.
With CoD or BF, the only thing you can change is a gun and like 2-3 equipment. With Dust's modular system, the possible variations are virtually endless. I can make Ewar suits, assault suits, counter-meta suits, or funny suits just for the heck of it. I spend a lot of time just mulling over ehp/DPS values of my tanks and dropships, calculating dB vs ehp of my scouts, daydreaming of Cal heavies w/ 100hp/sec reps, and other stats and figures.
I also enjoy the teamwork aspect, which is why I loved MAG (rip) so much. Squading up, teaming up, joining a corp, working together to achieve or conquer something more than we could do alone. That's what I find enjoyable.
And lastly, the potential it has. Don't will get good eventually. I don't think it's half bad now, but I can see it getting much better.

The game's fictional universe is awesome, and it's technically a Sci Fi RPG, of which there are sweet **** all that aren't essentially cutesy Fantasy RPGs with lasers.
In theme, it's like a cross between Richard Morgan's Takeshi Kovacs trilogy, Warhammer 40k, and Borderlands. When it's finished, it will probably play like one too.
It makes me feel like a fidgity kid though, all this damn waiting......

It's kind of like crack. You know that first game you played that changed your perspective on video games? well, before Dust I only played games like Zelda, or Final Fantasy. I stayed away from shooting games because I thought only guys who play football and share pron with each other get together to play fps.
It wasn't really my thing. But then I heard that Dust could let me completely customize my own character (and I absolutely looove doing that). Of course the customization options were nowhere close to what I thought, but I played a few games and while I was really bad, I liked how I could shoot people in the face without having to worry about everyone in the room ganging up on me (which tends to happen at the handful halo parties I was forced to go to). I was a stranger! and I could shoot other strangers!! Bwhaahahhahaha
So I stayed.
