A prison
A person would put a bounty on you they person who puts out the bounty has the choice for it the contract to be death ot prison. If it prison they will first have to catch you subdue you and use some kind of transportation ( I haven't worked out yet) When this player lets say Zimmer gets sent to prison Zimmer gets two choices contract corp to break him out but he would have to sneak around to find his neocom but the corp should be notified anyways by searching his status or the prison will notifi them. And for breaking out there will be no isk payout but maybe minimal sp payout and you will earn a bounty from the person who set the contract and the corp that owns the prison unless you pay them off.
But if Zimmer chooses to stay at lets say the prison is owned by the Caldari they'll make you fight the gallente you will get minimal sp payout and no isk payout or lp
No need for a "prison" to do this in the game...
In EVE they already have bounties and bounty hunters as possible choices for play. In EVE specific NPC agents can do what is call "location services". in which case, for a fee they will provide you the current instantaneous location of the pilot you are looking for. If they have a bounty on their head and you destroy their ship, then you get a percentage of the bounty based upon how expensive the ship-loss was for the target.
It would be relatively EASY for CCP to institute a bounty system in DUST. Here's how:
- You decide you don't like someone, so you have some extra ISK laying around. You put 1 million ISK bounty on that person's head. You are now deducted 1 million ISK from your wallet.
- Target gets notified (via character sheet) that they now have a bounty on their head for 1 million ISK.
- From no on, whenever someone see's this guy's avatar in a match, it will show a simple little bullseye symbol preceding his name (ie. he now has a target on his head)
- In matches, ANY matches, whenever someone kills this guy, they receive a portion of the bounty that is equal to some percentage (I suggest 10 to 25%) of the lost value of the gear that he was wearing when he dies... and it has to be clone termination, not goes down and gets brought back by medic. So if he's dec'd out in proto gear worth about 1 million ISK when you terminate his clone, then you get 25% of that value from the bounty "pool" which is equal to 250,000 ISK in this case. The bounty on his head now decreases by that same amount leaving only 750,000 ISK on the target's head now.
- The player that placed the bounty on the target's head gets a nice little email in game telling them that clone termination was completed by {blah} person on {blah} date in {blah-system-planet-district} and they claim only 250,000 ISK of the reward.
- The above steps 3-5 repeat until all of the bounty pool is gone on that person.
WALLA! We now have bounties in the DUST game!
In addition you could set a bounty not on just a PERSON, but also on an ENTIRE CORP. Meaning if they kill anyone in that corp for you, then they get a portion of the reward for doing so. Similarly for Alliances. This is all stuff they already have going on right now this minute in EVE and it would be simple to bring it over to DUST.
