What is its role? If i fit it with an AR and SG because of the suit bonuses It is too slow to get with in range so I die even before I have time to fire. I went with the Gallante commando because because I maxed out my AR before the new weapons and the nerf. I think the AR is still a decent weapon at range. How should I use this suit? Should I try another suit? Did I mention how slow it is? |

I like to think of the Galmando as an ambush predator, watching the corridors with a shotgun for scouts and providing mid-range suppressive fire with the AR.

Depends on your playstyle, an AR should usually be part of your fit for the best possible range taking advantage of your suit bonus. As for the second weapon a plasma cannon can work in place of a shotgun if you use it right in most situations, given you know how to aim it for splash damage. The shotgun is also a viable choice but unless you're always in CQC it is less effective. I personally run a burst AR for medium to close range, and a plasma cannon for just about everything else.

Plasma cannon and MD. I have not trained these above basic on the alt that I'm using, but those things sure do make people move around. You can control the enemy movement with them while hanging back.

I've started to prefer a CR over the AR though.

if it feels to slow try not to stack armor i always use kincats on my heavy or my commando people always stack the most useless stuff on their suits.

Most definitely AR and PLC.
I haven't managed to skill into it yet (almost there), but last build I ran a commando like that as an experiment. If you need something to fight in enclosed areas, that's your setup.

Honestly all I can think of is dual AR BPOs used like a HMG.
If shotguns had kept their RoF, the reload bonus could've turned it into something beastly. Sadly not.

People are having problems using this suit? Maybe because I have all weapons open to at least advanced, with several prototype, and full complex armor mods and passive (I know, I know) but I love the thing. My Ar is more than viable at mid/close range, I have a gaggle of backup/other options, a ton of HP, decent regeneration, and a variety of equipment to back me up. The commando which I have said before is an omni soldiers dream. You have to have a good deal of variety/sp to make this viable but when it is...it sure is. It can be a bit slow for some, but decent situational awareness can almost negate that... I only run the advanced but have every intention to make it my next full prototype. |

Out of all the other commandos I come up against, the gal one seems to be the most fearsome. It's a CQC monster with a healthy stack of EHP that can just keep pushing so long as its user knows when to reign in and heal up. They seem to be able to soak up damage like a sponge. It's the perfect embodiment of the Gallente playstyle: move up close, hit hard, push through. Useless at range.

I am also a Gal Commando/ Gal Sent Heavy. When I run Commando I was using AR/RR and it was ok. So I switched to CR/RR damn the racial bonus and so a slight improvement. Funny thing was I went from using a Duvolle to an advance CR and I was killing faster than before |

I participated in the commando contingency event with a Gallente commando with a shotgun, assault rifle, and two complex profile dampeners. I had an alright time with it. Just be vigilant enough to be able to kill with a shotgun scouts who think that they are sneaky.
This game makes me suicidal.

Need a good rep tool logi in that channel? I enjoy repping commandos, it makes them very effective and allows them to push harder than normal. I love getting two from behind and letting my tool go to work.

I personally use the Commando for my AV fits. I use a swarm or maybe a a plasma cannon in conjunction with any kind of racial rifle. I could kill infantry easily and still be able to distract that tank from camping the objective :P |

AR/PLC is the most obvious but AR and just about anything else works well to. I like AR/MD as it adds a lot of versatility. AR/LR and AR/RR are good for covering both long and short range. Maps with towers LR/PLC are nice you can get infantry on the ground with the laser and drive off dropships with the PLC.
1.8 because nothing says fun like getting shotgunned in the back.

Honestly the Calcommando might be the worst when it comes to bonuses. Min commando is just a reskinned amarr medframe with twin lights. Amarr gets a bonus to some scary weapons yes, but they are terribly slow.
Gallente commando is practically supreme, as it has no true drawback. You get 4 (albeit less effective than the other racials) AR's, an AV weapon(only Min gets this as well) and a CQC scout nommer that doesn't deal damage on its' user.

Oh, and shotty is a wonderful anything deterrant. Its not just for scouts. If you hit a heavy with 2 shots from the breach shotty, he will be pretty much dead.
