I was running my cloaked caldari scout and I was sneaking up on a caldari commando to knife him when her suddenly turned around and zaped me in my scout suit. It was as if he had me passively scanned. He beat me 3 time in that fight. I only won once and that was with my knife. |

I know I check my 6 every so often since 1.8 hits. I never run more than a few feet in the open without checking my backside. I catch quite a few would be Frank Jaegers trying to bite me in the arse. Maybe he was just wise,, or paranoid. |

My intentions is to have a fun game for everyone.

Well let's not forget that scouts still make noise like the rest of the dropsuits, no matter how sneaky. Specifically footsteps. I've caught a few scouts before 1.8 who were trying to sneak up on me that way.

Really? I've been trying to quiz my squad when I detect a cloaked scout..."Do you see that scout on your minimap? Do you see the red chevron above the cloaked guy?" I haven't had any solid confirmation, so I still don't know. What's the point of the scout if it doesn't work for the squad?

I really think the passive scan squad vision is bugged. It works most of the time, but it doesn't always seem to work.

Was it a TY-5 Breach Scrambler Pistol and M209 Assault SMG on a C-I Commando? Because That's what I run and I've been killing lots of cloaked scouts.

Could be they heard you. Either footsteps or decloaking (there's a sound which plays as soon as you switch away from the cloak).
Could be there was someone nearby with an active scanner and you missed seeing the "You Have Been Scanned" message. |

Passive Scans have always been shared. You just didn't notice because of all the active scanner spam. Or the fact that in Chrome there were just so many terrain errors that caused passive scans to fail- a few of those still exist btw.

I was in a squad with friends in 1.7 as a Scout with passive scanning skills and range amps. I had enemies lit up on my sensors and HUD, and nobody in my squad could see them. When I was squadless or when we were talking on team chat instead of squad, nobody I could get comms with on my team was seeing my intel.
EVERY.
SINGLE.
TIME.
Since the re-added Active Scanners, this has been consistent in every build for me up until 1.8.
Even now, chevrons don't appear for squadmates, so unless I'm close enough to light someone up inside the squadmate's passive scan radius, there's no benefit. I can share the data shown on the scanner, but not the HUD info. I also don't light enemies up by lining them up in my crosshairs, and being able to do that would be really beneficial. |

It currently IS how the game IS working, yes.
But it WASN'T how the game WAS working after the return of Active Scanners and before 1.8, which is what I stated, based on a good amount of testing in every build. |

Wait, so you're saying that passive scans show up on squadmate's HUD? I'm not talking about line of sight guys; I'm talking passive scan.
Fix and I tested this multiple times, and I never saw them on my HUD unless he put eyes on them. I did see them after pressing start and viewing the big map.

Passive scans categorically are and were shared with your squad at least as far back as 1.7.
I used to run precision mods and range amps on my gal scout and can absolutely confirm that pre1.8 this was the case.
That said it was and continues to be quite buggy and I'm not sure how long ago before 1.7 this came in but for sure during 1.7 it was possible.
