Instead of nerfing the range of everything, Nerf the amount of range/damage you can deal/recieve in the redline or simply not allow damage to take place there period. Rail Tanks still hide there, Snipers still cower back there. Fix the Redline and you will here less people QQ.
The easiest fix would be to not allow War Points to be accrued whilst within the redline.
So all you punk redline scrubs start your QQ now........

If you get redlined in a Pub the games over anyhow. It would also make it to where the "protobears" as you called them, would be less inclined to redline the enemy team. If they are there then they are not accrueing WP as well.

Well, no. Redlining will still happen. They'll just camp outside the redline and circumvent your solution. Nothing is fixed.
Other than unnecessary punishment for people who have need redlined.

If you get trapped in your redline, you deserve to be there. Period the end. Blame the proto stompers or the coordinated assualts however, we were once like you but we continued pushing out and NEVER QQ'd on the flipping forums.
- So CCP, fix the friggin redline
- Everyone else, either get proto crap or get friends
- Stay outta the redline cowards

As long as your team holds any fixed spawn location (CRU or an objective) outside the redline, you earn 0 WP while inside the redline. Enemies will also earn 0 WP for killing you in your redline, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT YOU'RE EARNING WP THERE.
Yes, when you're redline, you're losing. But if you over-punish new people by removing their ability to get any credit for TRYING to break the spawn-camp, then you're destroying the few hints of competent NPE this game has. |

So, you're idea to fix the problem is to enable proto stompers.... ignore new player experience... and doom the game more so than it is already doomed?

Not rewarding WP for actions within the redline is a ridiculous fix. As is not being able to take or receive damage in the redline. Tankers/ADS can just speed/fly back to their redline for safety. That would bring forth just as much QQ as there is now. The only thing I agree with that you stated is nerfing the range of everything is not a good fix.
TBH I could careless if people sit in the redline rail gunning or sniping my team while we try to take objectives. Case in point is thats less players to worry about actually putting forth good effort to helping their team win. Redline warriors are usually more of an annoyance than a game changer. |

I just enjoy killing red berries and becomes increasingly difficult to do so when I have to worry about 4 shooting at me and the timer ticking back from running around in the red line. I've died more from the red line then enemies it seems.

Seriously? You're in the top 1% of all Dust players (based on corp/alliance) and you're going to post in GD, expecting sympathy because you can't kill as many of us as you want?
This thread is just as flawed as the hundreds of other identical ones that have been posted prior, so I'll repeat the same two points: 1. If you're upset that you're being shot from the redline, then fight back in kind. If a sniper can shoot you, you can shoot him/her with a sniper rifle of your own.
2. If you want snipers to leave the general safety of the redline, you need to give them some means of protecting themselves outside of a sidearm that has no chance against almost every light/heavy weapon. Something as simple as a targeting reticule that allowed for non-scoped fire would be wonderful. Make it as big as the HMG's or shotgun's if you want, but please give me some sort of general idea of where my shot COULD go if the enemy is charging at me.
