It's a joke. IT IS A JOKE. The bug that causes certain shots to not fire is stil persisting! WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN HOTFIXED? It is now near impossible to engage tanks, and I unless I have three friendly Rail tankers, there is no way I can kill an tank above militia. I have no Neutron blaster to destroy Somas, or even a Madrugar hull to stack reps. I only have a Forge Gun, and Swarms. But those don't help me when the lock on time for Swarms is insane. I need the Forge Gun. But wait, it doesn't fire. I am most curious how I can take down an ADS of any competence? Ramming my dropship into it? Since when the hell should it be necessary for me to have to buy a dropship, have to navigate past the ADS before they gun me down, crash into it with no guarantee of death, and then suicide as the fiery carcass kills me.
CCP please fix the Forge Gun now. It was cute when 1.8 launched, but now me and many others are sick of it. We don't want to use Swarms, we want our Forge Guns. You took our Damage Mods, can the gun at least work more than 50%/ 25% 0% of the time? And I don't want to hear, "There will be news at Fanfest." I don't. If that is the case, then don't even reply, and screw all the trolls that probably will.

Anyone please let me know if you are getting this problem too. yeah, I have this problem. My theory is that ccp is in favor of vehicles so they are slowly destroying every AV weapon we have. I guess I learned to put up with it, though its a complete screw up. There are LOTS of glitches they should be fixing, but nah, they are thinking of what they want to nerf next.

They mentioned it somewhere in their known bugs list, but yeah incredibly aggravating. Yesterday I had my Kaal drop a shot, I was SUPER happy, so I switched to a DAU and it went 3 in a row... dafuq?

Jokes aside, I agree, the Forge needs to be fixed. The ADS spam is getting annoying, they keep them out because they know almost nothing can hit them. |

the only flaw in your rant is the assumption that this came around with 1.8. this bug has been around from as early as 1.6 (no joke) it only appeared in high lag situations.
but as far as the need for this to be hotfixed, i cant stress this enough!!! i have probably anout 1.5 mil SP in the Forge gun, and until this is fixed that will remain a dead investment. this weapon is ultimately unusable due to the fact that by the time you get enough shots off to kill anything other than a frozen clone, EVERY red dot on the field would have seen you, thus making your a perfect target (Big, slow and unable to defend yourself with anything other than a sidearm) |

It's not just the forge gun, the plasma cannon has all those issues (and more!). One of the biggest problems I see is that it takes about two minutes for the game to "figure out" what skills each merc has after they spawn and start applying the bonus. That is why you often see players missing a chunk of armor and shields on spawn, the game hasn't agreed with itself what your armor and shields should be.
As a logi who uses a mass driver it's almost suicidal to engage within the first two minutes of spawning. |

Not completely but I have seen my maximum ammo on a fit change dramatically. Then getting out and back into the tank will settle it out. That is if my personal shield and armor have recovered. Like others it is deathly to assume one has bonuses until the suits health is full.
And so it goes.

Hotfixes are usually things server-side or on the database, which can easily be fixed without releasing a patch to the game client. It may very well be that there's a client bug involved, and it's not possible to hotfix it.
Or they could still be working on locating it.

1. try the breach forge gun. The glitch almost unnoticeable 2. What swarms are you using? Specialist swarms? They have the longest lock on time. Also, at lvl 5 swarms lock quite fast

The glitch is due to the game not correctly recognizing your skills. Since your skills affect charge up time on the forge gun, if you hold charge for the additional time (as if you had 0 skills), which ends up being about a second longer than your meter shows, the forge gun will ALWAYS fire (Sorry assault forge gunners, no fix for you). |
