I kind of wish we could purchase drones to attack/defend districts. They have equivalent hp to unfit militia suits with militia weapons kind of damage, but of course, are in the awesome drone models.
They have perfect aim, however don't use cover. They will follow pre-defined logic on attacking/defending as groups (rush enemy home base, etc). They have to deploy drone hives instead of uplinks, and capture clone reserve units just to keep them out of enemy hands.

Sure, when allocating drones for a district, there would be 16 slots. You drag a stack of drone BPCs into the slot and it asks for a name. BOT-Paul <10gj blaster> Fred

I would name my drone Wall-E.
Wall-E has turned into a deadly killer over the years.
My intentions is to have a fun game for everyone.
If I seem to be biased, I have good hard data to back it up.

This is to allow lower level gameplay for entry level players, and easy isk grinding for end game vets. The vets can hire a boat load of drones to engage every single district they can attack, and the rookies can either hire their own drones, engage the drones, or surrender the district.
Drones are cheaper than a merc attack, however, they are weaker than a merc attack too. Say 20 mil buys a drone invasion.

in EVE, drones are not customizable, however, there is a good variety of drones to choose from. I'm on the fence here but don't know if the added complexity is worth dev time.
