I spent Saturday night hunting tanks in Ambush with Infantry AV. I'd say in that game mode, we are getting close to a balanced state.

I am of the opinion that blasters need a small nerf in either direction (AV or AI, not both), armour reppers need a small nerf (like 15% or something) and that damage mods need to be halved to be in tune with hardeners.

Okay, just watched the video.
What I got from that was that soloing tanks requires a bit of preparation and cunning, as well as some carelessness on the part of the pilot.
This is borne out by my own experiences; my Ishukone Assault can potentially two-shot a tank by hitting its weak point, but that's often more trouble than it's worth, and I'm usually better off just hitting it with all four + my grenades.
It's not as difficult to solo tanks as it was, by any means, and I'm pretty happy with the balance between AV and hardeners. I do think, as I said, that hardeners need a small nerf (it's ridiculous that I'm practically immune to low-level AV even in an 0SP Soma as long as I'm not a twit about it) and blasters' killing potential is too broad, especially compared to the other turret types.

Huh, I'm actually inspired to roll AV on one of my alts...or maybe this toon as he already decimates tanks via REs.

As a tanker and ADS pilot, I'm pretty happy with the reduction of turrets (no more easy WP) and rail turret range. Suddenly, there are not always swarms of tanks! Yay!
A little more tweaking, GENTLY, damn you CCP! GENTLY. Then it'll be nailed.
Hi! Gosh, I've missed you...with every bullet, plasma shot, rail gun, and missile.

I see a lot of imbalance, the warpoints where still generally in the tanks favor, they can quickly exit their tanks and engage you on foot if they have high sp with a proto suit, while you will still be weakend from fighting him while he was in hes tank, it took you a ton of chasing and the tank could essentually pick and chose those fights, why most of those scrubs decided to stand and fight is beyond me.
If i could see this fight style against skilled well known tankers and squads and see it work in PC or against capable opponents. then maybe. but WP was still in the tankers favor, you where still the guy fighting the uphill battle, AV is their bane and it should be represented as such, right now the most you could pull was 1v1 vs some tankers who made many many bad calls.
it was fun to watch though.
however the advantage should be the AV's not the tanks, thats the risk reward of the tank, AV should be a major handicap to tanks. not a equal a major handicap.
And just wait till these guys your fighting in these tanks start packing proto suits like heavy suits with fg's to take out your lav or heavys with hmg's to deal with you up close. |

Awesome! Glad I can be some inspiration. I still die a lot. Never at the top of the leaderboards when I'm on Safari, but it's still very gratifying to slay the beast.

Thanks! Yea LAV is a must when hunting. Tanks are just too damn fast to hunt on foot. Pro tip, when you have a partner, have them stay in the mini map and turn by turn GPS you. Just remember to warn them before you are ready to deploy.

I've been trying REs on the Combat Engineer ALT with much less success. Looks like whoever predicted Scouts w/REs would be the new infantry AV was right.
