Are you sure they didn't mean tank instead of scout?
I haven't heard this one so far. |

Doesn't take team work, just a militia assault rifle shooting the blue fuzzy thing in the corner.

Pretty sure the scenarios here are just a little bit different.
Scout: If you're alone, and you're alert and watching for ambushes, you can counter and kill the Scout without teammates. Tank: If you're alone, and you're alert and watching for vehicles, you can avoid the vehicle but can't hurt it even with AV.
Scout: If you're with a squad, and an enemy Scout attacks during a firefight, an organised squad will be watching each other's backs and the Scout will be caught out by players using the same weapons they use against any other infantry. Tank: If you're with a squad, and an enemy tank attacks during a firefight, an organised squad will either be wiped out or run away, then respawn/switch into AV in order to fight the tank, sacrificing their anti-infantry capabilities in order to fight the tank.
Teamwork is OP, even for Scouts. If there's a lone-wolf enemy out there, the best way for a Scout to approach is to use a teammate as a decoy - thus working with that teammate (if unwillingly on the teammate's part). If there are two groups of players, and a Scout flanks one of them, that Scout ISN'T working alone, they're working with the teammates who are engaging the same group of enemies. And they're RELYING on those teammates to keep the enemy's attention away from them while they move in. If you're paying attention, you can see the Scout coming. If you're in a firefight and you let yourself lose that situational awareness, the Scout can get in close. If you're in a firefight with friends backing you up, they give you that extra security to allow you to ease off and look around occasionally. |
