They're so good. Although I no longer use shield extenders, kincats, or cardiac regs on my fits, my survivability on the battlefield could not be better. It feels like cheating because of what I'm able to see with my passive scans and what I can hide from with my dampening. With an ADV Gal Scout, I can equip:
2x Complex Pre. Enhancers 1x Complex Range Amp. 1x Complex Prof. Damp 1x Basic Plate Shotgun Assault Scrambler Pistol Flux Nades Compact Hive REs
This fit still has a decent amount of CPU and PG to equip better weapons/equipment, but because I like to keep fittings relatively cheap, the basic stuff works fine. Solo play in pub matches has become lot more fun. |

WHAT? NO CLOAKS? HOW DARE YOU!

Nice fit by the way. Now see this on a Caldari Scout and you got yourself a damn good cloak killer.

Does the passive scan work only in the direction you are facing or 360-¦? I'm not seeing any difference.

Seems a bit wonky to me sometimes too.

I still feel passive scans should not show you the direction an enemy is looking. That should be reserved for active scanners.

Well, I'd settle for knowing WHERE they are, but most people wouldn't.

At one time that was the entire scouts role...destroy all the equipment (mainly uplinks.) But now with all the cloaks the scout has become a hunter.
I do miss being the guy who was in charge of destroying uplinks. |

360-¦ passive perma scan > every active scanner
Active scanner have no sense to exist right now and the gal logi bonus (even if i still like the suit) is a complete waste of SP.
The unnamed new build it's so secret that nobody know what will be in it, even after patch notes..

Active scanner have no sense to exist right now and the gal logi bonus (even if i still like the suit) is a complete waste of SP. I think the active scanner still has a place for team play. A Flux can scan further than any range amp Scout, and the core focused is still useful for picking up Scouts with minimal dampening skills.
On solo fits, they still work wonders for providing intel of the general location of reds. |

They're awesome. Have you tried the Federation/AUR CPX Kincats? They're rather cheap and are helpful for knowing just how much of your suit you'll have to sacrifice to equip them. |
