Theres no point of having a proto scanner on a gallente logi, if an vehicle with a scanner can scan EVERYTHING within a 20 meter radius. Scanners went from OP to useless, almost no one uses it anymore.

I use Duvolle quantum and core focused scanners on most of my fits. They're not useless. As a scout, they enable me to see groups of reds before my passives can pick them up, and as a solo player, the intel they provide greatly help in my decisions of whether to flank and engage the enemy or to run away.
Fuck clacks, I'm keeping my scanners.
Finally, vehicles will just give me away, so I say no to them. |

Proto flux scanner
You can shoot out a 200 meter scan that will tell you which direction the enemy is in, and with t huge scan angle.
The cooldown might be 30 seconds, but you don't need to use it constantly, just occasionally to figure out where the enemy is spawning from.

1. Vehicle scans are 80m, not 20m.
2. Vehicle scanners are all set at 35 dB, ie: It's not hard to get under their scan range.
3. There is no way to improve their scan precision. so 34 DB beats all vehicle scanners forever, no matter what.

You can't use a vehicle all the time because not all situations will allow for them and not all situations call for them.
So you need to scan an enemy across a bridge? Well...Lemme call in my LAV friend to drive across the bridge...versus doing that crap yourself or with a nearby squadmate.
There's also the fact that some areas restrict it and that you can't aim the vehicle scanner.

I use it on my assault suit... only the adv so scouts always get past it which sucks
