So, we are still pretty early into 1.8 and OF COURSE , the new equipment dictates the new FOTM, same as when the A.Scanner came out, only Sentinels wouldn't run them.... But still ,many of the best Scouts are still old school scouts. Im not an old school vet,but i have been a chromo scout so i've been around for a while too, and except for those full proto scouts with proto shotguns 600+EHP tanked ''newbie scouts'' (probably FOTM chasers that were playing med frames in 1.7), killing other scouts come relatively easy.
Now, to the thread. This thread is with the purpose of OLD and NEW scouts to post their fittings so others can RANK it and give their opinions on what to change or give ideas on what to improve.
I'll start with my OWN fit and i'll of course, will be accepting critiques and ideas on how to improve it. I must note i HAve the following skills that are related to my trade: Profile Dampening 5 Radar Range 5 Scan Precision 5 Biotics & Kinetics 5 Shotguns 4 SMG's (Everything @ ) 5 Grenadier 5 Armor and shields at 5 PG and CPU at 5 GAL SCOUTS 5
Now my most used fitting goes something like:
Arch-Demon H: Complex Shield Extender Complex Precision Enhancer
L: x2 Complex Kinetic Catalizer Complex Range Amplifier Complex Profile DAmpener
G: Thukker Contact Grenades
Light & Sidearm: Ishuk Assault SMG Toxin SMG
E: Adv Cloak Compact Nanos
This version of my Gk.0 i Use powerful E-war modules next to some Speed augmentation and cloak to increase my chances of detecting enemies at further ranges while avoiding detection. Mostly used as a fast flanker, this fit also has one variation with 1 Cx Kinetic Cat replaced by a Reactive plate for more ''defensive'' (AKA camping) loadout. Also , while cloaked (and even without cloak) detection with scanners is almost impossible.The Contact grenade is a ''Wild Joker Card''. Letting me 1HKO other dangerous scouts (or at least leave them near death) and take down the shields of shield tanked enemies or Heavy Frames,to then proceed to annihilate their armor with my ISHIK SMG.
Any Scout fits here will be discussed by myself and other interested scouts of different levels of experience. Feel free to also comment on my Fit.

You do have a point. But thats exactly what im looking for. Heavies,Commandos, Assaults ( i truly dont know ANYONE who double damps their med frame, except me pre 1.8)logis...The Precision enhancer is so i can detect level 5 passive Dampened med frames mostly with maybe a dampener on.... Even if this is an ANTI scout fit, i NEED To know where the heavier enemies are to deal at my own pace with my cloaked bros.
PLUS, i really have CPU and PG to spare. E-war modules are pretty cheap to fit.
But then what are you implying; i should run then 2 Cx Precision enh? because i would.

My AK.0 is similar, but with upgraded stuff, a boundless CBR, advanced SMG, and an enhanced profile dampener.
May i ask why do you pack SO MUCH weaponry thats effective vs shields?...or...
BTW i truly dont have anything to say about the amarr scout.... i dont really want to know anything about that piece of...

I may be off by a module or two, but that's more or less it.
I tried the Laser rifle as a ''side weapon'' but i didnt do too god with it. I simply LOVE the 1st fit BTW(The one with double pistols). I would change a Range amplifier for a kin cat thou, but thats just me that i cant live without some speed... :3

If you're running Gallente, focus on hiding from your opponents and being able to run faster than them (dual sprint mods is good). Even though you might not be able to detect them at least they shouldn't be able to find you.
Frost Kitty is an amazing scout, able to get 40-50 kills in a match easily even without a shotgun. He focuses on surviability, and flanking speed from what he's told me.
HAHAAH talking about Frosty Kitty, my GF called me at work told me Frosty Kitty made her Rage quit a game XD (she uses my account sometimes while im at work, but never uses my Proto stuff...) (THAT I KNOW OF)
Anyhow. Funny i thought Frosty kitty used to play Med frames with Combat Rifles pre 1.8. I dont know i've only played him once in my life while i was with Swenla and cat lady vs 4 of his boys...great match.
How would a second Precision Enhancer would GIMP my suit? I dont depend on EHP for survival.

Your innate 40dB scan precision, 36 if you've got the skill to level 5, will scan the medium and heavy frames regardless. The second one is useless until/unless Precision Enhancers get buffed to -25% when looking for scouts. You're better off with e shield or damage mod in the second High Slot.
Thats a more detailed explanation. +1 Im guessing i was wrong. ..
But i dont believe in scout eHP tanking and i;ve never used damage mods... : |

First thing, Frost ran Proto Gallente Scout and Gallente Assault. He'd mainly run a stacked assault with me right be hind him with a core focused and yes he ran combat rifles with that. But when I wasn't with him he'd run a creodron on a scout and die maybe 0-3 times in that fitting in 1.7 He tossed the assault for scout skills in 1.8 and still rocks it, with only about 20 million sp lifetime. (to put that in reference I have almost 40 million) Running e-war mods might make you sound like a true scout, but in reality all it sounds like is that you have to rely on your radar and passive scans in order to take on other scouts seeing as how you don't need any of those mods if you have your passives and scout skill high enough to see any other frame. He doesn't tank his suit by any means, in fact I think he actually ran damage mods in 1.7, but like I said he focuses mainly on flanking...and "survivability", which doesn't mean EHP, it means using tactics to not die as much. I think his main weakness is his focus on kdr though...
Well good for him.I actually played with him only once in my life , think he doesn't play at the same hours i do (after 1am eastern till down time)....Hes a good player, but without a fit to discuss we are wandering off topic.

Its not invalid. Its just the Amarr scout is the best fitted for what we like to call LIGHT ASSAULT. It doesnt have speed, nor a bonus to speed. It doesnt have any E-war advatages over other Scouts, nor a bonus to enhance them. It doesnt have a hacking , not melee ,nor CQ bonus. It has a rather Large hitbox IMO for a scout. So: No EWAR, no SPEED,no CQ nor melee....
What it does have, is a LOT of stamina and more HP,thing that works better for FLANKING ASSAULT. I havnt given an opinion on your fit since: 1- I dont really know anything about fitting an amarr scout,as IMO, its not a a scout. 2-I dont know what the objective is with this scout. I know the Minnie, is melee fighter (with 120 melee damage) , Nove knifer and hacking speed. GAl is dampening and range. Cal is pure Radar. But i dont know what to enhance in a amarr scout...

Its not like the Amarr scout is BAD, but it is UP compared to other scouts since in needs to heavily invest in modules equipped to achieve a regular performance in Scout oriented features(E-war,Melee + CQ,hacking or Speed) AND it lacks the other traits that med frames have for an Assault oriented suit....

Amarr Scouts look like birds. They should jump higher to make use of those stamina bonuses.
7% per level Jump height WAS proposed pre 1.8 by some people AND myself to go NEXT to the 5% current stamina bonus... But got no luck with CCP...

If i played CAl, i would use it EXACTLY like you. But with double SMG's that is....
