Same reason people play EVE, it's not really for the spaceships its for the relationships and friends made while flying spaceships.

Totally agree and the only reason we have a good living corp is the sosial enviroment, but there is a limit if there is not much more. |

I find it funny that people are so gung-ho over "DUST doesn't matter; why do I play?" when they would never ask that of Kingdom Hearts, Call of Duty, Titanfall, or League of Legends. They all matter equally in the grand scheme of things; not a single bit as it pertains to your life. It is ironic that because the game sells itself as this huge epic intertwined story that when it falls short, people feel that nothing matters.
A single match in Black Ops "doesn't matter." Your ranked score in League "doesn't matter." Getting all the trophies in Arkham City "doesn't matter." Playing Monopoly "doesn't matter." Why is it so important that everything in DUST have to "matter"? If you do not enjoy the game, the socialization with friends, or are just capping because you feel the Skinner Box tactic to empty out your weekly bonus SP: I highly suggest you at least take a break from the game for a while. I did and I don't regret it.

I am not sure if there is ever going to be a PVE I have read all threads about PVE in the forums and the silence from CCP about that is nearly totally silence.
So a vision in where Dust is heading will be interesting to now. |

I dont agree, you have to see what this game was said to deliver and what we have. The fight should matter in a larger scale, connection to EVE etc.
If you find it giving to grinding on a few maps all the time be my guest, I do expect more. |

But is it important for the enjoyment of the player and to the game as it stands now?
I understand the huge frustration with "where the hell is everything?!" because I have it too. The fact that it took over a year after 'release' for the dropsuits to get parity is abysmal. That isn't releasing EVE with only Cruisers; that is releasing EVE with only one race's Cruisers. The amount of stuff that should be in the game that hasn't been announced yet (gotta wait a month) and the amount of things announced that are not here (remember 2013's FanFest?) is staggering.
But does that stop the game from working as it currently is: a mildly competent shooter with a lot of hopes and dreams? I honestly hope in a year's time we look back to what DUST is and just go "WOW; sure has come a long way!" because the game should definitely be more.

Not to mention when I pop someone with a MD and send them flying 30 feet into the air its a great laugh! Good enough for me! More content is just icing!

I also hope it goes like it was with EVE a slow growth until we today have a great game, I just hope Dust will do the same. |

Nice, I also like to put my magasin of bullits from my heavy in a crowd of players, I do still enjoy it a lot, but its also my task to motivate members in corp. |

the underlining problem is we are mercs fighting endless free fights with no purpose to them. what ccp promised us was taking contracts from eve players to fight their wars. the better we are the Likelihood we would be hired for bigger rewards.
all this effort ccp has gone to, to bring in PC yet it goes against everything mercenary warfare is about. we should not be allowed to own districts at all or profit passively from them. our entire income should be reflected in our ability to win fights.
in my opinion they should ditch PC completely and concentrate on the mainstream features like FW, public matches and pve. meanwhile they can work on bringing in the much needed contract system for eventual eve integration.
why are we just clicking to fight. why does ccp not have in place a full contract selection system for picking fights. low and high contract value fights would bring a little bit of balance to matchmaking as the better players would chase the higher payout contracts while the lower ones would be less pubstomped allowing noobs some element of matched ability
"great time for a squad inv" duty calls

Shows CCP can do marketing (or people can use PSN and like free things), just a shame the hype they pushed the game with is taking way longer than intended to implement.
I play because it's all fun as hell to get zerged as a Logi then spawn back in with an HMG and watch them scatter MWHAHAHAHAHA!!! I'll be here for the long haul. Several breaks have been taken and I'm sure there'll be plenty more to come, but my clone is always safe from the BioMass facility.

This is actually another great reason to play. I forge gun'd DJINN Kujo's Thale's the other day. That was satisfying.

Oh Lord, is that why? Glad I have a life. Guess that's why I had nothing to gain from EVE and quickly finding nothing left in DUST.
I don't want to chit chat with you people in a game. Come to a pub or a cocktail party for that sh*t.
