Are there any UP or OP examples? Is everyone just using the Magsec or SMG? Does the Ion pistol need some help, is it too situational or is it in a good place? Has the ROF nerf on the Scrambler pistol hurt it much? I'll start off by saying I've enjoyed the bolt pistol perhaps more than I thought I would. I two shot a scout a couple of days after 1.8 hit and I've finished someone off in a medium suit duel with one. It packs quite a punch. At first, I thought the charge up time would hinder it, but then I remembered using a Raging Bull or something similarly hard hitting usually has a slow ROF anyway. In Dust, that slow ROF is made up by the charge up time. In the other games, it's just slow animations. >> Play Dust 514 FREE! Sign up for exclusive gear today! <<

The ion pistol I don't have much experience with, but when I pull it out, I can't seem to hit anything when ADS. SMG seems to be just as good as it ever was. Scrambler RoF nerf kind of hurts it but if you can rain down headshots it won't matter in the long run I think. Haven't tried the magsec or bolt pistol yet

I have a the Magsec on a lot of my fits, but I hate it. Its not enjoyable at all and pretty blah. Have yet to use the Bolt Pistol, even though I have it to Advance. I should do that today. xSivartx is my Heavy. There are many like him, but he is my own... So, other Logi's back off, those are my Warpoints!

The Ion Pistol is decent. The Bolt Pistol is a little better, and Flaylocks are.....fun to kill people who are hacking? (dat ragdoll animation) Solo Player Squad status: Locked

The Magsec gets a big "meh" from me. I hate the Scrambler, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good gun. Flaylock needs a buff. My Assault Sub Machinegun will still tear you in half tho. I've got sharp-shooter at 5 right now and it still seems a bit wide for my tastes. I might just be picky though...or it's the hit detection as you've said...but probably just me being picky.

I am unhappy with sidearms in general. I tried everything except the bolt and flaylock pistols. If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.

Of course it is not a fair comparison as I only have Ops 3 on the magsec but prof 5 on my SMG. Of course I am only doing this for this event once it is over I will go back to a light weapon primary. I am getting hammered in this event just using sidearms.

It's anti-shield. 2-3 bursts from the burst SCP, ideally to the head coming out of cloak, then swap to ASMG, or duck behind cover if you're swapping to magsec, and spray them down to finish. Any armor damage from the SCP is just bonus. Nerdier than thou

The Ion Pistol is good for Scouts and scout hunting. The Bolt Pistol is bad against fast targets but great against slow targets. The Flaylock I'd as terrible as they were in1.7. I can't speak on regular Scrambler Pistols since I haven't used them in 1.8, but I will say that the Breach Scrambler Pistol (which received no range penalty), seems to be better than the Bolt Pistol. I hear that burst Scrambler Pistol is a tad but more useful. Taco Cat backwards is still Taco Cat a¦Ñ_a¦Ñ
