"If you feel that Plasma Cannons are not a viable option due to this bug then we can only advise that you try an alternate weapon until the issues surrounding this item type are resolved."

Oh, right. I suppose I should stop using it against targets it actually can, sometimes, if lucky, kill, and use it against massive armoured juggernauts that don't even notice sustained plasma cannon fire instead.

Exactly! And as a player base we have shown time and time again that we are perfectly fine with this behavior. There are even people who feel the need to defend CCP's antics.

Oh I know you were kidding. And thank you for the videos. I really wish I had a video capture for my PS3. The sheer amount of game time I play with the PLC means I could record quite the little glitch video.

I sent in a ticket about how large blaster and railgun turret proficiency wasn't working with times it took for someone with 4 or 5 ranks to complete a revolution compared to someone with zero skills. I was basically told to run the test again making sure it was the same PS3, controller, and same settings and get back to them. So I guess I am part of their Quality Assurance program :-)
Stating "until it is fixed, it is going to be broken" isn't a really big problem; it is just being honest. Would be like saying "your car is broken. If you feel that the only way that you can get to work is a car, I suggest you find an alternative method until this car is fixed." It isn't a "if you don't like it, don't use it." It's an acknowledgement of the problem without being able to say much more. Seem alright to me.

i will use an alternate console like the ps4 to fix any dust 514 problems

FFS you're an idiot. Did you expect them to fix it then and there? GMs aren't Devs, how could you even expect them to know when or what is being fixed?
They gave solid advice: if you feel something isn't working right, don't complain because you're knowingly using a broken weapon. Just use something else until it's addressed. They acknowledged its a bug, what more did you expect?

FFS you're an idiot if you think CCP is just going to fix it out of the blue without any type of feedback from people who actually use the weapon. I love the logic here.

edit: Can you imagine the ******* riot if the Combat Rifle was misfiring and not reloading and CCP just said not to use it until they fix it but no fix is currently planned?

This is exactly why I shied away from my favorite Weapon in the game.
It's been hilariously bad and bug ridden for a long time.
I'll still use it when I eventually skill back into a Logi, but for now its just hanging on the wall screaming "I'M SORRY! PLEASE USE ME! I'LL DO PROPER DAMAGE AND I'LL EVEN FIRE EVERY TIME!".
