Personally: Scout C/1 2x complex shield extender 1x basic precision enh 2x basic range amp 'Dren' SG N7-A Magsec Flux grenade Basic cloak Compact nanohive
I think everything on there is self-explanatory. I know the basic precision enhancer does nothing at all for me, but I can't stand leaving empty slots, I have no PG left, and it's not exactly an expensive module.

It's all about the shields.
Oh and the cloak of course.
Once you've got those two you can use the suit pretty much however you like. It's basically an assault suit with everything made easier.
No.

This is the CalScout I run. You can see everyone out to 54m save proto GalScouts with at least one proto dampener, you cannot be found except by a proto scanner with GalLogi bonus to level 2, or another CalScout. Cloak makes you invisible to everyone, although I think this should be removed from the cloak. You also have fluxes for killing uplink spam, and the nova knives and Magsec give you enough killing power for what your role is (intel on enemy positions, assassinating targets) and the shield extenders give enough buffer for when you are caught. All for 40k ISK.
Best PVE idea I've seen.
Fixed link.

Very close to this yes.
And i do like how you used an advanced suit and not a Proto suit. Check profofits for ideas, but it's all depends what you like to do. Option on highs are complex precision and extenders, the options are lows are kin cat, dampeners, or range.
Std cloak, compact hive is good. You don't need a nade, or a sidearm if you cannot fit what you want after your primary. Some weapons are far easier to equip like SG or CR than the RR or AR. So if you have to sacrifice made or sidearm i would. There's nothing wrong with using k5 SG or a adv CR if they fit. I prefer to get my modules all complex and sacrifice my weaponry because seeing them coming is more important than a few extra damage.
Without knowing what your skill tree looks like its hard to offer suggestions. But use protofits, and take the time to put your actual skills into the SP tree. |

If you need help you can mail me or talk to me in corp chat.
Scouts have two lows, you can either pair: Kin cat + range Kin cat + damp Damp + range Damp + damp
You shouldn't waste valuable lows on armor.
I still always use 2 complex extenders on highs, but you options should include: 1 complex prec + 2 extenders 2 complex prec + 1 extender
So mix and match them, it's what i do. The equipment are std cloak with either compact DL or Hive. The weapons and nade is where i sacrifice CPU and PG to be able to fit the modules. |

To OP : try using this
Highs: complex shield extender and 2x compx precision enchancers Lows: compx range amp., and basic damp Eq: adv cloak and RE guns: SR+magsec, CR+ScP and flux (guns std of your choice but these works great [shield burner+armor burner])
Only other cal scout can see you and focused scanner. You will see every suit in range of 54m (except dampened gal scout of course, but theyre not a problem really). 36k and very effective. |

WRONG. For a super-effing-obvious reason. As a scout, you can engage and disengage at will, especially with good passive scans. Combine this with the fact that you're literally invisible while standing still cloaked (I've had people run into me, look surprised, then go around me without figuring out that it was actually a cloaked scout), and the advantages of shields become obvious.
400 shield proto Cal scout is out of shields? That's fine, leap around a corner and hit cloak, then STOP MOVING. 99.9% percent of people will assume you just ran away. Stay cloaked for 13 seconds and you're back at full HP and ready to re-engage. I've whittled down a GK.0 HMG heavy using a magsec this way without ever going more than 20m from him. It took 3 cycles of this process, but ultimately there was nothing he could do- I was in control the whole time.

The armor rep is a waste, if they've broken your shields, things have gone horribly wrong anyway. Scan range enhancers are much, much more valuable use of a low slot.

I get where you're coming from, but have you actually tried range amps? With Cal Scout V, it's everything that was broken about 1.7 and earlier scanners, without taking up an equip slot.

Lots of good suggestions in this thread. One thing to remember is the different design philosophies behind the different scouts.
The Caldari scout is essentially the long range scout, it's about scanning far and with high precision. This allows you to see your enemies from far away and then control the space and distance between you and them. Engage on your terms, not theirs.
One thing to consider is a long range weapon: Rail or combat rifle. See the red at distance and engage at distance. Pull out the sidearms only if they get too close.
In contrast the Gallente scout is the CQC scout, it's about staying hidden and getting in close. Therefore, cloak and shotgun combo is perfect.
Desperate attempt to get BPOs
