What do they even do?
They all need their passive bonuses to be increased. They all need their PG/CPU, sprint speed, stamina recovery, and base HP buffed.

Passive bonuses are strong.. Don't under estimate them..
Plenty of people are making the Gallente Assault and Caldari Assault, suits to be feared on the battlefield..
The Amarr Assault bonuses where broken last I saw, and haven't been fixed.. So we haven't learned to fear the laser and SCR the same...
They need a PG/CPU buff... that much is clear ...Because they have less end fitting ability then a Scout...
But sprint speed, stamina... and base HP is all fine... |

Minmatar assault could use a little more speed to make up for their lack of EHP, maybe another 3-5%

I still believe it's just the perception of the players instead of the actual stats.
Because you can tank a scout and throw on a cloak, it makes it a "better" choice in many players' eyes. Truth be told is that you're using a Scout as an Assault while missing out on the bonuses for the assault.
What's the point? Extra speed and mobility, for a smaller eHP roof, and the ability to use a cloak which could be scanned through easily if you're not tanking dampeners.
I mean, I can only say so much because I haven't actually tried 1.8 yet but it sounds silly to me.
The Amarr should still be a mofo when their bonus comes back. The Minmatar should also be a feared thing with it's increase in ammo. I'm actually pretty surprised that some people say that the Caldari and Gallente are doing really well. Not because I thought bonuses were crap but because people complained so much about them. The Caldari Assault bonus should be love considering that the Rail Rifle, Swarm Launcher, and Ion Pistol are all weapons that have high damage but low clips. In order to streamline damage as fast as possible, you need that reload bonus.

I feel like all assaults need slightly more HP for their relevant tanking stat (e.g. Amarr/Gallente = armor and Minmatar/Caldari = shields). When I say slightly, I mean 5 - 10% more. I still feel like TTK as an assault is a bit low.
Other than that I am quite happy being assault.
He imposes order on the chaos of organic evolution...
