Well 1.8 was worth a week it seems for me just like I though it would be, I had fun with my Minmatar Commando and Sentinel. Played ambush, domination and skirmish many many many times with those two suits and now I'm back with nothing new to do.

I like that idea. They could bundle them as trophies too.
OP, go play something else dude. You only draw breath for a finite amount of minutes and if you aren't enjoying your free time then it's just stupid to waste more of those minutes here.

I just quit. The constant grind in what is basically one game mode (TDM) isn't fun anymore. CCP borked up the one role I really enjoyed (flying the dropship) and grinding logistics for ungrateful teammates for the Holy Grail of SP is too much like work.
Yes there are more guns and suits now, but nothing new to do with them. There is no strategy and precious few tactics required to win.Each match consists of the same headless chickens running around among the occasional organized squad that cuts them down. The cloak was novel for a week, but there isn't much to do with it other than camp.
Most of the toys are here, now CCP needs to improve team coordination and more ways to win other than just shooting the other guy in the face with a light weapon. They need to differentiate each role by giving them a unique way to further the win, not simply a different way to shoot someone in the face.
I'm not expecting that anytime soon. |

Try MMOFPS Planet Side 2. It's F2P and pretty fun. At least the maps have varied terrain and it's quite colorful as opposed to the drab earthtones of Dust. It's on PC now but will be coming to PS4 soon.

If I get a PS4 DUST would probably be the last thing I would play on it haha >_< These next gen games look ******* incredible. I mean, I played ONE match of Titanfall on a buddies Xbox One and even though it's just 6 vs 6 at ALL points it felt more intense and lively than any match of DUST I've ever played.
By no means will I delete my character, but DUST needs a lot to really draw me back in to the point where I can get excited for it again.

What really killed the vibe of this game for people, besides CCP not knowing what they're doing, is their "laser focus" on PS3.
So while the rest of the gaming world moving forward, CCP gonna be here focusing on DUST on the PS3. I don't wanna hear how many PS3s out in the wild vs PS4s. inFamous SS had more pre orders on PS4 than it did on PS3 and it sold more as well. So that theory of more consoles = a wider audience is true, but it doesn't mean more sales.

The thing is the lack of real content means there is nothing I can spend that SP on to make it fun again. Truth be told I've spent too much of my free time in the game anyway and need to attend to other things so it isn't all bad.

Setup Squads... And start practicing full on squad play... Spawn.. Call in a dropship and rush their home point..
Que sync Lotis in FW... And start building a solid team strategy... Then take your DUST to the next level and go find some targets to fight in PC, that you guys are confident in facing... LOTIS are no slouches..
PC is really nice right now as far as lag and latency are concerned.... Its far from perfect.. But at least its playable.
Nothing EVEN comes CLOSE... to the potential of what DUST could be ... as a full 16 corp mates fighting for the win...
Pubs are just full of people who could give a crap.... Makes the whole motivation in even playing moot. |

Agreed, there are more ps3 consoles out there but how many of them are gathering dust right now ( real dust) and how many of the owners of a ps3 are actually playing Dust 514, slowly the population of ps3 owners is decreasing and the owners of ps4s is increasing.

History with the PS2 and the PS3 says differently. It will probably be a couple years before the PS3 even stops having titles be released for it..
Specially with 80 million units floating around the world.... The ps2 sales during even the high points of the PS3 was astonishing...
But the low price point, DVD play capabilities and family friendly games made it a success even with the ps3 out.
The PS3 is arguably 50 times better in what it can offer a casual gamer, Entertainment user... With Netflix, Youtube, Browser, Blu-ray.. Full Optical audio, HDMI, Componenet and RCA jacks.. Being compatible with all current and previous technology generation for audio and visual...
Then the list of PS3 games... Which is substantial.. And a lot of them won't be offered on Gaikai..

I'm still enjoying it and get a lot of value from it. I don't need it to be perfect now cause me and my mates don't have dumb ass expectations and can appreciate the game for what it is and how far it's come. Fatigue kicks in now and then but I don't come in here being a drama queen about it like many here, I just go play something else for a while and come back to it.

The current PS4 games are absolutely boooooriiiiing, there's nothing to play - I haven't turned it on for two weeks straight.
Titanfall was good for a week also - if you think protostomping in Dust is bad, then imagine playing as a level 1 against a squad full of gen 2 level 40 guys during the first week of the game... |

BF4, AC, Warframe, Infamous, etc... all of which aren't perfect, but all are miles ahead of DUST. The real reason people don't want to leave DUST is because they don't want to leave their comfort zone. Beating up on random noobs everyday is better than getting wrekt in BF4 ; ) ... to be clear, I'm no fan of BF4, in fact the game is garbage, but I still rather play that than play DUST.
Pretty soon Destiny will be out, then I want to hear what's the excuse DUST players going to give for sticking with DUST.

The reason CCP is sticking with DUST is the POSSIBILITY of more numbers. Of course, more PS3s out there than PS4, BUT inFamous SS sold more units on the PS4 than any of the previous inFamous did on the PS3. What that says is the demand for games on next gen is high, even though the number of consoles is low in comparison.
CCP is backing the wrong horse, when sales numbers suggests that people are buying more next gen games than last gen.
CCP thinks DUST is going to be great on PS3 in 3-4 year to come? That's laughable when you consider that's when next gen consoles will start to have even more games.
But who am I to argue with CCP... they've done a banging job with DUST so far huh

Private matches would sort of keep the interest in this game , practice battles, screwing around, fights against other corps so you don't have to throw millions of isk just to fight against a whole corp. Many other possibilities that I don't know of.

Well for try-hards and relapsing addicts if Weapon Proficiency isn't at 3 then MOAR SP is needed. Over a million SP and the usual nerfing risks.

PS3 equals watching a show like Revolution in 720p ok but not a wow!

Why are the visuals important?
Well I sit three feet from a large HDTV that I think is either 70 inches or 80 inches (forgot) and anywho the wife saw a 92 inch HDTV at Best Buy and now the hints are that we "need" one......
Why is the sound important?
Well I have a custom built Home Theater system and trust me on this the sound is very important be it a game or a movie.
Especially shooting a meteor spell in an RPG game and it sounds like Hulk wants to tear down the wall.
Dust sound effects sound ok? in basic speakers but the sound is lacking when played in good quality speakers.
Just kind of time to move on in a few months.
Hopefully CCP moves to the PS4 and if not then theres plenty of PS4 games out in a few months.

Buy all racial frame sizes (militia if you don't have the skills), get various weapons to at least level 1 to use (or buy the no-skill-requirement AUR or LP versions), and mes around creating new fits to test. It also helps if you have a wide diversity of modules you can use.

I agree that pubs arent the most interesting thing playing for 1 complete year. Though personally I am not bored yet, I, as a casual and solo player playing only 1-3 matches a day at random times, find the process of taking part in PC kind of prohibitive.
Getting good enough, finding a corp, becoming integrated enough to be the "guy to go to" for PC battles, then planning your game time so that you can take part in a PC battle ... Thats a metric **** ton of "if's", that completely shut down the PC branch for me.

I would love to have "lone ranger" PvE contracts, like they (I assume) have in EVE. Roaming around, get to better know the world of new eden, hunting and gathering, playing sheriff in some remote hell hole, maybe even claiming a place to be your own (and then get raided) ... all while having the ability to get in an out of the game within minutes at flexible times during the day. Wouldnt that be nice? But I am asking too much here. Dust is a WIP after all.

The chance to lure some of the best players in the game into a 1v1, aaahh, what a rush! The worst part is when i kill their entire squad plus a few of their blueberries, and then the target gets me before I regen completely for the duel, but oh my, that moment when I catch them on their lonesome, full health, both of us in pristine condition- then, and there is what I play dust for.

Getting good enough, finding a corp, becoming integrated enough to be the "guy to go to" for PC battles, then planning your game time so that you can take part in a PC battle ... Thats a metric **** ton of "if's", that completely shut down the PC branch for me. So though I am not getting bored yet (maybe because of said limited game-time), I am far from getting to get intimiate with that whole "one universe" thing as well. I would love to have "lone ranger" PvE contracts, like they (I assume) have in EVE. Roaming around, get to better know the world of new eden, hunting and gathering, playing sheriff in some remote hell hole, maybe even claiming a place to be your own (and then get raided) ... all while having the ability to get in an out of the game within minutes at flexible times during the day. Wouldnt that be nice? But I am asking too much here. Dust is a WIP after all. ya being able to do PVE contracts solo like in EVE and traveling around in New Eden sounds great. Ughhh the only positive things I can think of for this game is the possibilities , not anything that this game has right now. The chance to lure some of the best players in the game into a 1v1, aaahh, what a rush! The worst part is when i kill their entire squad plus a few of their blueberries, and then the target gets me before I regen completely for the duel, but oh my, that moment when I catch them on their lonesome, full health, both of us in pristine condition- then, and there is what I play dust for.
I don't doubt that there are things you can do to keep the game fun but I'm here for the MMO-FPS not just another lobby shooter. Dust could have all the stuff right now and not be linked to EVE and it would not be interesting to me.
Don't nerf heavies, instead do This

As for daily challenges, you'll get a daily challenge that rewards either SP, Weapon, Dropsuit, or Skill discount for a day
Yeaahhh!!! why not a constant challenge:
for every 'X' ammount of kills with X suit, earn 'x' ammount of AUR variants of a higher tier of that suit. (weapons too).
Also, add a website like the battlelog for Dust to keep track of your accomplishments and kill count of every weapon. |

Would be cool to go for some of these challenges but really wouldn't interest me that much, just like the trophies for every game on the ps3. They don't interest me much, might go for one of them but that's it.
