By social game, I don't mean like something you find on Facebook but rather like Playstation Home. I would imagine it would be highly lucrative considering how it could connect to EVE and Dust. Walking around bases, hubs, even certain cities... Then buying houses, apartments, colony homes, and what not. Players could formally talk "in person" at a bar or another area or perform proximity chat in their secluded areas for private convo.
I mean a lot of players don't play the game and just socialize on EVE. The same could be said for Dust players. Would probably pay a few dollars to customize my headquarters, and would imagine the CEO would do the same for the corporate building. It could really lead to a consistent amount of money. Very much in the same way that buying customs clothes for toons would.
They could just make certain areas accessible instead of a walk around everything type of deal.

Eve has Planetary Interaction... that's kind of like a cow-clicker from Facebook...
If PI was expanded upon it could be amazing.

I had a similar idea for a social game that was half that, half city builder in which players are given a district (or part of a district assuming one could easily house multiple cities) to build and maintain in a Sim City fashion and the choices they make would account for map and socket location on the actual battlefields. They'd have to deal with collateral damage costs when dust battles occurred on their district (especially with orbitals) and for those brave enough to try to run a district in nullsec then balancing out dealing with the Eve players who could just glass their cities if they felt like it.
Really, there are thousands of populated planets and billions of' inhabitants' on them. So much possibility to create games around the lives of noncombatants.

This would really put the MMO into dust. Being able to actually walk around and do social things. Though, unfortunately, there are other far more pressing matters for dust. Such as the balance issues; EVE connection; the various other missing weapons, vehicles, gamemodes, p2p market and every other feature CCP have promised.
We want cake and tea.

Heard that expansion, it is an expansion right(?), brought up before. What happened?

The Eve Online players saw CCP stop developing internet spaceships and start developing internet barbie dolls. This made them go poop-sock, neckbeard, crosseyed insane and many players unsubbed in droves. CCP panicked and stopped development on WiS.

Ahh this was the fiasco with the space monument, yes?
And they had to really halt all production for it to be that much of an issue. Would imagine that Dust players wouldn'- Actually a lot of the QQ too much for my liking. I wouldn't be surprised they start ranting how CCP rather build virtual houses than give us more guns.

Best explanation of the average EvE player I've ever read.
It was more the micro-transaction thing, and the lack on content release for the amount of time put into Incarna that caused the riots.
This sums up 75% of the forum posts.

Yeah, a lot of people shot at an in-game statue because yes.
In all seriousness, yes, CCP had to stop working on WiS. Something like a third of their playerbase quit in the span of a week. That makes a business change it's plans. Fast.

Yes, micro-transactions were a big deal too. I didn't personally get upset about that part since I never planned (and still don't plan) on ever buying AUR for the spaceship barbie clothes.
