If CCP did this everyone would have an Amarr logi fit (Amarr Logi V + Drop Uplinks V). Match starts, deploy in Amarr logi, throw uplinks everywhere, switch to actual fit, actually play.
Equipment spam would return to pre-1.8 levels.

Not an issue, IMO.
I don't know which games you are playing in, but I primarily play skirmish and the number of drop uplinks has gone way down since 1.8. One of my corpmates is an Amarr logi and is loving it because he is typically the only merc dropping uplinks.

I feel like the equipment SP refund would have been wanted by the community, but isn't necessary needed. I'm not a logistics merc myself... I carry nanoinjectors and they weren't touched by 1.8 at all. I could be wrong of course. My rating of 4 was just my opinion.
