I know the repair tool does a lot of work, and gets you a lot of points, but truthfully, I find it sad that to use a proto rep tool (why would you use anything else if you have one?) it will cost me no less than 20-35k. Add in an advanced dropsuit, the price instantly goes up to near 40k. Then throw in some modules, and a weapon... most suits won't be able to run a proto repper for less than 50k. My advanced suit runs me roughtly 70k a death. and when I play logi, I tend to die quite a lot, because shotgun scouts love to one/two shot logi's.
I just wish they weren't so expensive. I'm not what you'd call.. "rich". I've never really been in a district holding corp... so I've never gotten these fabulous "paychecks" I keep hearing about. If I did... I don't think I'd care much.
It just seems rather unfair that I can run a full proto heavy for 125k, but if I wanna run a full proto logi, it will cost me easily double that, and I will die twice as fast. |

A drop in cost could possibly bring back many of the logis that were lost in the 1.8 nerf. I still blame the amarr for that

Honestly, of all the tools, I feel that one should be the most expensive of all. Of all the equipment I run, this one nets me significantly more wps than any other single piece of EQ (uplinks are second). I rarely ever run my proto tool on my suits. The BDR-8 has far superior reach and its significantly more helpful in battle than my core focused. Especially with heavies and commandos at the fore front, I'm getting hunted more than ever. Being able to hang back and heal from a distance and jump around avoiding bullets and grenades while holding onto my lock is significantly more helpful to me than the core focused.
That being said, I would be all for reducing the cost of nanohives and uplinks. With the increase of time to spawn in and the decrease of hives providing without incredibly expensive suit skill commitments , I don't think they should have retained their costs.
However, fitting bonus or not, our suits have to be a little hefty. Just like other suits, we need to keep our costs down to keep our wallets up. Bringing proto into pubs isn't cost effective not for any role. I would suggest you duplicate your proto heal tool suit and swap it with an ADV. If your team isn't helping you out enough or simply can't help you, you need to either find a new squad who can take care of you and appreciate what you can offer, or switch out. A good logi is only as good as its team.

Don't run the core (proto) rep tool, instead run the advanced "triage" version. It will cost you much less, and repairs more HP/S on dropsuits (less on vehicles, which isn't really a factor). The only real drawback is 1 target being repped at a time rather than two, but for more rep/second and a cheaper tool, its worth it. |

But i run ADV Min logi with a SIX KIN usually and generally make a small profit.
Oddly enough i perform better solo. I guess it's because i expect cover from my squad and usually get none. And while running solo,i'm much more aware of the fact i must fend for myself.
