Someone at CCP still thinks Reactive and Ferroscale plates are actually viable. With those fitting costs of course heavies would need more fitting space.
But the reality is we only ever use advanced plates and complex reppers, so we end up with over 100 extra cpu and 20 pg even with everything being proto.
(Actually it's probably because trying to fit a proto Caldari with 4 complex shield mods was impossible to do with only 350ish cpu, so they raised it, and then based the other suits off it so that it wouldn't be unfair)
Do you think the cpu/pg values are fine? Could it be the real problem behind heavies seeming to have so much HP?
I just wish I knew the real reason they did it in the first place...

Can you please give me those 20 pg if you dont need them? My mk0 scout would really need them.
Anyway I think heavies have 2 problems: pg and cpu are too high and hmg 's dps is too high, you cant give to the suit that has the highest ehp the highest dps. |

Yeah, that's another good question.
Why nerf ttk on the other weapons and not do it for the HMG? Kinda silly.

I can only assume it's in preparation for the Scrambler Lance. That thing will likely be the most PG intensive item after cloaks.

Reactive and Ferroscale plates need HP buffs. Or fitting requirement nerfs. They make no sense otherwise.

I love how plates go from way too easily to fit and useful at STD to extremely absurd at complex.

No, the HMG should have the highest DPS CQC and heavies should have the most HP. |

Pssh. Try running with Amarr weapons on an Amarr logi sometime. Always end up with -1 PG and like 30 CPU left, it's infuriating.

HMG needs a ~10% ROF nerf to bring it in line with rifle changes. That is all.
Nerfing Heavy HP is a horrible idea, nerfing HMG DPS more than 10% is a horrible idea.
But nerfing all the rifles without touching HMG was horrible idea too, so we're righting a balancing wrong here.
Let's make this game less horrible, shall we?

No the fitting space of the suits are not the problem. The fitting cost amd efficiency of HP modules is.
HP modules have the lowest fitting costs. Then on top of that they have the best engagement by engagement efficiency of any module.
Sort that out and that sort of thing will come to an end.

The reason it seems Heavy suits have so much room to fit is because we are lacking in our suit specific items.
We have 2 weapons, one that isn't very cpu/pg intesive (hmg) and one that can become hard to fit with full proto mods (forgegun).
We do not have our Heavy Grenades yet which I would assume to be extremely cpu/pg intensive.
Equipping weapons designed for medium and light frames easily makes it seem we have high cpu and pg. |

In my opinion plates are to low in fitting cost, and they could up them without hurting heavies with the current fitting ability.
It is possible that the amount of fitting space is for the other heavy weapons. The HMG being Minmatar is lower in fitting cost as other Min weapons are. The Amarr heavy weapon will likely be pretty intensive on fitting cost, if the other Amarr weapons are any indication.

Why nerf ttk on the other weapons and not do it for the HMG? Kinda silly. The other Big-Four Rifles were still better. Why do you think so many people abandoned HMGs in favor of Light Weapons all they way to 1.8?
Also all rifles and most sidearms have a higher DPS at range. It would be ludicrous to say ranges have to be nerfed to make them more fair to the HMGs.

Yes. the HMG is the close range suppressive fire weapon intended to dish out lots of hurt. I have seen lots of complaints about the HMG recently having to much damage after the TTK changes. Honestly if you back up to 35m accuracy is very trash which immediately drops dps. If i can't hit you it doesn't matter how much damage the shots do. That said, if you are in a scout or assualt suit in close range trying to go toe to toe with heavy with an hmg then you should be loosing those kinds of engagements 95% of the time. I will continue to say it as I have been saying it (hell i should make it my signature):
"If you encounter a tactic you have trouble in handling, change YOUR tactics. Don't blame the game or the balancing."
If you think it is TRULY (<--- and I mean truly broken) bring it up INTELLIGENTLY in a forum thread. Then see then see above quotation until it is fixed or is left unchanged as that is how the game is supposed to go.
