When a damage modded prototype blaster turret can't do enough dmg in a single clip to destroy another tank, something is very wrong in Tank V Tank Combat, stacked armor reps need to be addressed, when 2 stacked tanks run into each other its a complete stale mate. |

I think that this is not an exploit. I don't say this because I do it, because I don't I am an infrintry player. I think that it is a smart tactic, Because they are able to Repair faster than you can dammage them, that is the kind of tactics that a smart player would use. This is not an exploit, Because the reppers are doing what they are supposed to do repair. People should be able to play how they want as long as they are not exploiting the games mechanics in a gmebreaking fasion.
I recomend that instead of wanting it to be nerfed you should put some work into finding a counter. Evauluate the tactic then find it's weakness and stike there. Work in a group , and be coordinated in your strikes and how you move. Everything should have a counter. If this tactic doesn't have a counter then one should be created. Every tactic should be viable for one person or another.

Armor repairs on vehicles should work like in infantry. Not absorbing gunfire and working after a 1 second delay. |

1. Overheat. Even if you connect every shot, your going to overheat, which gives a rep tank time to heal.
2. I doubt your landing every single shot.
3. I can outdps a rep tank with a neutron blaster, let alone with a damage modded ion cannon.
Best PVE idea I've seen.
Fixed link.

Even without damage modes or plates a blaster cannot kill a tank, unless it is shooting it at the back and the victim is an unhardened sica. The blasters are terrible AV weapons.

The day I take advice from a Dust uni player is the day i quit playing this game, i've been playing this game for nearly 2 years mate and I know tanking better than most players, especially more than a "infrintry player"
This thread is my feedback to CCP, I have no intention of debating the subject with ignorant scrubs.

It's things like this that make the case for AV ewar so much more important. Webbers, active-module vampire equipment (even if capacitors never make it in), overheat/jam inducers, all this sort of stuff could offer so many more methods of approach for vehicle <> vehicle combat and infantry <> vehicle engagements.

In reality this is actually working exactly as intended. Doublestacked armor repair modules is a fit which is extremely strong against weak, sustained damage which is exactly what a Blaster is. It is also however extremely weak against powerful burst damage, such as a Railgun or Missile turrets. So essentially the reason you're having issues is because your opponent is running a fit designed to counter your blaster turret, but he would fall easily to other large turret types.
Switch to a different turret and you'll make short work of the guy!
Like my ideas?

Your problem is that you're using a blaster turret that's supposed to be AI, not AV. Don't get too comfortable with the hardener nerf...

As i said before, no intention of arguing with any of you about this, I doubt this will be the last thread you see on this subject, just wait for the hardener nerf to sink in and more of the toy tankers to start stacking reps.

on topic.
Stacking reppers is balanced, It means that they can't have stacked hardeners etc.
if they hit a mine field then they are dead. Not many tanks can go through my mine field of 12 proximity mines. |
