This is my third video covering new sidearms, but unlike the others, this is not a montage video.
Basic Variant. No damage mods, No Proficiency.
Didn't make it into the video, but headshot damage value is 165% (55% above body shots damage)
This was a experiment I felt I needed to run. I felt the need to understand the damage output of this pistol better, in order to figure out exactly if/when those charged-up shots are actually worth it. But since I was running this test I figure why not make another video while I'm at it? Special Credit: Raylon Mortien from EB. This is not his normal suit, he put that together specifically for this awesome test. |

It also does lackluster charged shot damage tbh considering you're locked for 3.5 seconds.
I haven't run into many bugs yet but I generally agree. Half-Charge shots feel like a very bad move generally.
Opening any 1v1 fight with any charge shot will most likely get you killed. It's only viable use seems to be a finishing shot, only if your a good shot and can "weigh" the damage. Charge-shots could have some utility for helping score assists since it strips so much shields. But if you are going to make the choice to use this gun, rapid fire will probably be the bulk of your practical damage.
All of this, and the wide hip-fire probably make the Ion Pistol the most difficult of the new sidearms to use. |

The effectiveness percentage is different depending on whether you are aiming at shields or armor.
Yes that is something I noted, shields 110% armor 90%. So yes it makes sense to point that out, I'm guessing headshot damage value would be 145% on armor, vs the 165% on have seen on shields. |
