Hey guys I'm kinda stuck at building my caldari scout. I want to use the caldari scout for what it was made for which is scanning and all that stuff. I'm a advance caldari scout. I used the n7 magsec and nova knives but I had stop using the magsec cause it's not reliable or maybe I'm not using it right. I just need help with some fittings I hope you guys can suggest and I'll try them out and get back to you on which ones had worked for me. |

How are you using the Magsec?
It's basically a mini-Rail Rifle. Use it at mid-range, and duck into cover when you see enemies. Step out while already holding the trigger so you skip the charge time. It has pretty good range, a much tighter spread than the other SMG, and higher damage per shot (lower DPS at close range though, so don't let enemy SMGs get close).
If you're trying to use it as a spray-and-pray weapon in CQC, then you're doing it wrong, and should be using the Minimatar SMG because it's better for that job.
As for building the "perfect" Scout, unfortunately that doesn't exist. YOUR perfect Scout might, but it won't be the same as mine.
I'd recommend at least one Shield Extender. MAYBE two, but one is probably all you're going to need if you're scanning focused. Stack Precision Enhancers because that makes you more capable of locating enemies the way you should be. For low slots there are a few options depending on how your suit handles. Range Amplifiers are good for the best scanning capabilities, because they let you pick enemies up from further away. Dampeners will make it less likely that enemy Scouts will see you. It might be worth adding an Armour Repairer if you're often getting into combat and taking armour damage WITHOUT dying. If this isn't the case, then don't worry about it so much.
As for Equipment, it sounds like a cloak would be useful for how you're likely to be playing, because the reduced visibility and the profile dampening effects will allow you to flank unaware enemies and slip past Scanners if you're alert to the risks. Your second slot could go to almost anything. If you're mostly operating near teammates, then bringing Nanohives, a Repair Tool or an Injector can be good. Scouts are surprisingly good field medics, being able to quickly dash in, pick someone up (or patch their armour) then disappear back to what they're doing. If you're running with an organised squad, an Active Scanner might be more viable than it is for most suits, because even though YOU can see enemies, your passives don't share that information with your teammates. |

4 complex shield extenders 2 plates. I use a complex Ferro and a basic plate to minimize speed loss combat rifle is a good choice, but with as many shield tanks cropping up there's a good argument for scr right now
I'd suggest smg as a back up unless you are willing to really sacrifice hp for a mag sec, or consistency for knives
I burn ammo like crazy so I use compact hives remotes can be really helpful for capping spawn points but cloak is probably what you wanted.
scan precision mods are entirely over rated. Health is what's going to let you disengage when the jig is up on flanking and harassing.
with max skills you will be more than capable to spot groups and targets to call out for your squad |

Do not listen to this guy. Brick tanking your Caldari Scout is the FoTM right now and is sure to get nerfed in some fashion eventually cause CCP. Not to mention fitting for eWAR works better for the role anyways.
2x Precision Enhancers 2x Shield Extenders
1 Damp 1 Range Extender
Combat Rifle, Rail Rifle, or shotgun as main weapon SMG, Bolt Pistol, or Scrambler Pistol as secondary

This is my main build. It takes a GalLogi level 2 with proto scanner to find you, you can passively see everything except a dampened GalScout out to 54m, the knives are great for killing people who are hacking something or sniping, and the Magsec gives you a ranged option in case you need it. All for 40k. If your fitting skills are up to par you can throw on a compact hive or a needle if you wish. Although sadly, there is no way to get enough CPU to fit remotes.
Best PVE idea I've seen.

^yep, this is exactly what I was going to post. Check out that website. It's an invaluable tool that will allow you to tinker with your fits to get the best optimized dropsuit that you can build. It's worth it.

Cloaking, dampening and scanning are all EWAR elements. In EVE Online there's capacitor warfare which is also part of the same EWAR concept, as well as webifiers and other tools for disrupting enemies rather than directly harming them. |
