All I can say is, one of them does it right.
Take a guess which.
For those that haven't played Titanfall,
using a cloak in that game is not a 'I get a free kill', or 'see you later, i'm the gingerbread man, you'll never catch me without a scanner' button.
It's more like initializing something akin to what the Predator uses.

Kinda like watching an outline of a figure run about. Hard to see at a distance, obvious up close, and nearly invisible to Titan optics.
Maybe cloak should work like that? Completely invisible only to tanks and dropships, but slightly visible to everything else?
Actually, yes. It should work like that.
Until then, this game remains garbage. |

That would be amazing. I was really looking forward to implementing a cloak on my scout tank-killer fit, but there is just too much blue shimmer when moving to justify sacrificing all that CPU and PG. |

I don't have a problem with cloaks. I can still see them when they stand still because I actually know what I'm looking for.

If one mechanic of gameplay completely ruins the game for you, perhaps it's time to uninstall...
Besides, Crysis did it best.

So, you're suggesting the cloaks should look like Predator but in all honesty, except for the distortion that starts inward and goes out in a circular motion with the Predator's design, they do look like the Predator's cloaking device.
Have you ever seen water on glass? The images being shown thrown the glass where the water lays is distorted. It is the same with scouts.
No it isn't a "I got a free kill" or the gingerbread man. They worked for that kill. Because while you stand oblivious not noticing your surroundings, there are mercs who notice that something is off and work to chase them.
And if I remember correctly, didn't Arnold and the guys had to do the same thing? Look for the distortions? Because at first they couldn't see it hiding in the trees.
A cloaked scout is visible. And it does work like how you suggested. What else do you want besides a big yellow arrow that says, "Cloaked Scout Here"?
Take on the challenge. Adapt and overcome.

That's great but paying over $500 for better cloaks doesn't really seem worth it to me. |

Titanfall looks like another short self life game to me. People will rave about how awesome it is and Dust is crap by comparison, yet in two months when they have maxed out the new game and they get bored, they will be back in Dust.
I know several people so excited about killzone 4, gta 5, bf4, but after a short time they were back playing dust. Titanfall, destiny and planet side 2 will be they same way. Those type games get boring fast.
Gun control is not about guns...it's about control.
The only way to ensure freedom is by having the means to defend it.

you can run at full speed while cloaked in titanfall,
but your cloak is more of a shadow than anything else.
it's more fun, that's all i'm saying.
i don't have a huge problem with how cloaks work at the moment. i'm not uninstalling.
they're just, not as fun, as titanfall.
also, exactly. titantall is a short game.
i've already maxed out everything. prestiged multiple times.
and i'm back.
but it was worth playing, and they are definitely a franchise to be feared.
moreso by call of duty meatheads. call of duty will die once titanfall adds more competitive leagues. |

No big yellow arrow... but what about a big red arrow? Because thats what you get when you use a Caldari scout, appropriately equipped, to counter it.

People need to defend Titanfail becuase they pay for it.
Killzone 3 the multiplayer is stable but nothing more, Planetside i was with too much lag to do something useful so i quit, Destiny i don't know really they said that it will have a lot of Borderlands so the only wait to really see something is playing it.

Titanfall does look cool, but that game is terribly short. New Killzone was cool, but yet again a tad short... Destiny might be that way, but it looks like a more advanced Borderlands game. GTAV was raved about endlessly on my friend list for a while... But died off once the disappointment of multiplayer came out for it. Planetside I heard is having lag issues, but perhaps that could be due to a person's choice of tech for usage of the game.
Overall most of these players that get away from DUST end up back here. 
TO TOPIC THOUGH, cloak is fine, just get rid of hit detection glitch and experiment with decloaking by gunshots(obviously not a bullet or low damage shot to decloak) and it'll be good to go. |
