If that was true the MD would do crazy things to it...Interesting thing to note about the MD, way back when it's damage was buffed against LAVs and Dropships.

Not really. With the Mass Driver, the projectile is only propelled by the initial firing. Flaylock rounds are small missiles that have continuous propulsion until they detonate or reach their max range.
Mass Drivers have a max range also. They are explosives. Basically the only difference is that there is no arc and it fires faster. Bar the esoteric stuff, MDs still should have a greater effect against vehicles.

The splash damage should, not the impact damage.
That rational is odd considering the MD itself has a greater damage with direct impact. Therefore in the game the direct impact itself with the MD would have a greater effect over the flayock .....But we are talking about hypothetical situations, generally the way the MD is designed I imagine the force of a direct impact has something to do with the ammunition involved.
