Think some corporations have been care Bear to much they all shitting their pants. We been training for months . This is what real PC is about, no rules. Man the **** up and defend it . We will be glad to fight AE & look forward to it. Nothing better then fighting one of the best ;). O7 AE see your heavy there big Yeah I'm in. Brass knuckles on. They can take our clones but they can never take our FREEDOOOOM!!!!
Of course PC is broken though. It's the equivalent of the EVE starmap consisting only of only one sector or whatever (i.e. Fountain) and CFC and Pandemic Legion blued up and keeping it on lock down. The reason EVE null sec isn't stagnant and sucky like Moldy Heath is that it's just too damn big for for even those superpowers to control it all! So diversity is fostered, which leads to emergent content, which is the MMO aspect were all craving.
All CCP needs to do is sufficiently expand the number of districts in PC so that there's no way for the powerhouses to be able to cover it all. That would would totall transform DUST and make all this moot. Hell, PC should BE the game, with FW as something else to get into for those that are into that. Then pubs could be a casual snack.
Let's hope this is what they they'll have for us at Fanfest. No excuse to keep PC so tiny in the next build. |

The larger the playerbase, the more factions you end up with. And the more factions you end up with, the more juggling it takes to maintain control. Oooh that's not how you get my vote broseph! Sure the game needs more players. I think that will happen, but it's not either/or. You can add 2000 noobs to the game and it won't change the balance of power in PC one tittle. It's 16 on 16 skirmish any way you slice it. As long as The Haves have the time/energy to defend against/take from The Have Nots, they're gonna win those skirmishes. The only way to give The Have Nots and opportunity to become The Haves is to provide just enough territory that the Have Nots will always have a place to grow, on the fringes if you will, taking what they can get from the leftovers. In EVE there are SO many leftovers that even the mighty have to say "Meh let the scrubs have Cobalt Edge. We'll be overextended if we try to hold it."
Come on CCP give us the foundation and we'll build on it. Don't turn us into this guy:

Nyain San defending 40 matches on the same timer with a 127-man corp should've taught you that. There's fundamental game design issues that ensure 100% capture is an inevitability, no matter how many districts there are. (Funny enough, district locking actually delayed this inevitability for a while.) Especially since the current mechanics offer the current victors so much of an advantage, that no new party would even have a chance.
There aren't enough players for a mass attack to actually overwhelm the capabilities of even a small corp to organize a defense. The game mechanics offer no reason to limit the amount of space you control. Even if you have more than you can defend, and lose some, you can immediately take it back. And further, since many of the "top players" just jump over to whichever corp/alliance is currently winning, the advantage of top tier players will always lie with the current victor as well.
More districts just means more ISK bleeding into the same epockets. Which means even more protostomping in pubs. Those fundamental mechanics can be changed. There MUST be a way. If there's truly no hope they should just get rid of PC and try something new. One step short of that could be opening up new regions scattered around the sector and make travel between them prohibitive, forcing corps like Nyain San to choose only one. |
