Officers and Soldiers of high rank have long been rewarded The Templar Sword by their service to the Empress. In battle it has been used to slice through enemy forces and to finish the Minmatar scums. Upon the battlefield it reflects the rays of the sun in its golden glory, blinding foes with its charge and rallying troops to their captain.

The Amarr Templar Sword would be carried by two hands and would be treated like a heavy sword(so slashes would be slow). The sword can be charged and do devastating damage to armor. The blade is golden and is enameled with Amarrian script.

Are you suggesting this or is this part of the lore?

You know what, I think I am going to buy that EVE: Source book. I need my lore knowledge cemented in my brain.

 GREAT IDEA!!!!

Except it doesnt make sense for it to be wielded by big, lumbersome heavies that run at a snail's pace.

 Amarr Assault makes sense.

I don't know anything of EVE lore, just that it would be awesome. It's just my story writing skills that make it sound that way.

 DO THEY EVEN PRAISE BRAH!

I have one....but it is ceremonial, and unlike my Palatinus and Legate, both of whom chose single handed blades.... my own is a heavy two handed affair to match my build.

No caldari have knives and would get swords. Especially because of the Japanese roots.

A mace or spear seems more amarrian flavored as a holy weapon.
a two hand sword would be cumbersome and unwieldy.
It'd have to be like a claymore if it's two handed lol.

I made a post about charged melee weapons a while back. I'm guessing it's locked due to age, but here's the link. I'm sure you'll get a lot of the same responses I did. I see that you have already gotten a couple.

 Charged Melee Weapons

I'd love to see it expanded on.

Hammers are the vessels of God's judgement. You get your pick axe and get back to work.

A heavy sword can't be dual wielded. I'm sure you were talking about a claymore or zwaihander. Both are heavy and you use both hands to wield one.

Also, shouldn't it do more damage to shields since their weapons are designed around the idea of wiping out Minmatar heathens (which have more armor)?

I can get by the charge though. SPIRIT SWORD! (DragonBall Z).

Consider the LR more like Soul Greatsword from Dark Souls 2.
