I am not making this thread to QQ, rage, B****, or any other way to get attention. Sad you have to start a s post like that. Any way why I say that RE's need to be fixed is the toss. I for one do not understand when I am loading up a Bomb Buggy, JLAV, or whatever you want to call it there is a few seconds between the times I can place the next charge. So why is it ok for someone to come running at you and throw a RE it slides forever and then Boom. I know all about situational awareness but you can throw that out the window do to cloaks. I have fluxed an entire room and then a scout will uncloak throw an RE and then run you cant escape the blast fast enough. So here is my recommended fix they have to place them and it takes just 2 seconds, no more sliding, no more tossing from buildings, or throwing them. They should be made so you have to plant them. If you feel the same please place a +1 so CCP can fix this mess. I know there is more pressing things at the moment, but this has been a problem for a while and I think it needs to be addressed more. |

Yes! Ive been trying to find a solution and this is it! Placing the RE needs to be placed like a regular bomb would be a solution and its realistic...if you want a throwable explosive then use that ******* grenade slot

Thus making impossible to place them on an enemy tank.
CCP you better nail 1.8, as it stands 1.7 is a total disaster.

Yeah, shhh Sounds like a good idea to me. You can either use grenades or REs but not both if REs were used in the grenade slot.

I would be fine with the placement mechanic being changed to having to physically put them on the objective. Im sure the DEV team could make a quick action that allows for placement at different heights.
There are definitely some abuses of REs that need to be taken account.
- They can be thrown down from pretty significant heights and still exploded - They can be detonated after the merc deploying them is already dead. (this is about as cheap as the revenge feature from COD)
That being said, I have no issue with REs being able to be planted quickly. The issue is that they can be tossed far enough that they can be immediately detonated without any risk from the person deploying them.

Putting REs in the grenade slot doesn't exactly mean that it would restock from nanohives. They would still be the REs we know today but just in the grenade slot instead.

So giving tankers a pass on having to actually pay attention to anything other then what their barrel is pointing at is making them play smart?

Its not a nerf it is fixing a bug that is apparent to a lot of Clones. I am not saying you should not die it is the fact it is a cheap tactic that needs to be fixed. You should not be able to slide, throw, or any other animation besides placing an RE. |

That is a valid tactic as long as you arent tossing it like football.. Ive had a guy sneak up behind me with an RE (and done it to others). I was pissed for a second at myself but the merc definitely got a slowclap from me at the end.
Things like baiting people around corners/through doorways, rigging red LAVs or supply depots should still be valid tactics.

Solution: Make them stick to the first thing they touch, INCLUDING THE GROUND.
No more sliding, but if you have good aim, a well-placed sprinting throw could land your RE in the middle of a group of enemies with a chance to detonate it before they react. Doing so would require more skill though, because you can't just stand back, throw and wait for it to slide into position before hitting the button. |

Both grenades and REs restock from nanohives now. As it stands the only way to get the main advantage of ADV and PROTO REs is to restock them. |
