The Scanner sucks now...
Miss the old days when it was like Aliens and I would circle scan to find out I was surrounded in red dots LOL

Man the scanner in Aliens is just iconic. That beeping noise was enough to give me the damn chills. Coolest part is when they are looking at the scans, Hudson and Vasquez, and rush back to the room to seal up, only to find out that the aliens came sneaking in through the roof. Just watched the unedited version on Hulu the other day. One of the greatest action sci fi movie of all time.

Yea, I agree. I miss the scans. Whipped out my A-45(?) after 1.8 dropped and my mouth just dropped. The cone was the size of a cheap ice cream cone and it hardly picked up anything. Then in that split second...it was gone. And then I watched the meter take forever to re-spool.
Yea...replaced with the quickness.

As a retired assault I miss everyones scanners as well.
Gather round children, and I shall tell you of a time when scanning mechanics weren't stupid.

meh the world keeps turning, last week everyone could be seen easily with scanners, now apparently most people can't see me with their eyes.
in terms of over nerfing visibility that's about as hardcore as ti gets ^^
I stopped using my scanner religiously like 3 months ago as soon as I heard it was going to be nerfed, I would go days without using one so 1.8 wasn't really all that differently to me. |

Scanners were a problem, but they shouldn't have been nerfed this hard. Still... its gonna take a lot of therapy to get "YOU HAVE BEEN SCANNED" out of my head...

Scanners were a problem, so instead of people dealing with it and trying to use e-war, CCP made one suit get under all scans and scan everything passively.
I'm still getting scanned, but at least I don't have to see 4 words on my screen letting me know that I am being tracked.
