I will always talk about jets, the reason being if someone in CCP sees this if only as a distant thought I can influence some decision making.
How will they fly, what weapons will they use, or will air vehicles need a new set of turrets. These things need to be talked about so we don't have to go through months of tweaks to fix basic stuff. How fast should they be, how much shield and armor, and how will the ground be able to defend? |

It doesn't matter when we see them we still need to talk about them so the community has a some kind of census.
As to them being fragile and not doingf damge I think the opposite, they should be fragil but deal alot of damge. |

As to them being fragile and not doingf damge I think the opposite, they should be fragil but deal alot of damge. Yes, damage, but to who and what? The issue we have in the game right now is that most vehicles are too focused on taking out infantry rather than other vehicles. This is because of the way that map layouts are set and the little use vehicles have logistically. When mercs can easily move between objectives or only need vehicles for short duration then they only become important as killers. Look at PC. Dropships only have logistic value for very brief time periods (say 15-30 seconds) to either quickly get into a central objective or to get to high ground. Once done, they serve little purpose. If jets become just another infantry killer then you will more complaining about balancing. They need to have a specific unique need which means that you need to give other vehicles other unique needs.
Tanks are ment to be sheilds for the infultry behind them, but people don't do that, CCp made them big sheilds with bigger guns. Jeeps are ment to carry people places, not contiuiesly try to run people over, and dropships are ment to farry people and either leave or provide air support after. A jet is a weapon designed to be out fitted for multiple situations and take out mutiple targets. Jets have a purpose, they kill vehicals and they kill infultry the same as every other vehical in game.
Jets are ment to be fast and deal good damge and get out. The problem isn't vehicals, the problem is the lay out of the game, sheild and armor takers and rep's. These things make fighting and killing vehicals irritating, in other games it takes skill to keep a spawed in vehical alive (in my opinion) you have to know were to go.
Have you never played Battlefield, Section 8, Starwars Battlefront, or Warhawk? Saying jets need a specific job makes no senses when they are meant to do many jobs:
Bommer, Air to air def/assault, info gathering like AWACS(Airborne early warning and control)
Jets have a role they can follow, just pick one. |

So you're saying it doesn't take any skill in Dust? Again, people say "vehicles" but all they really talk about is tanks. Try flying an Assault Dropship and seeing if that qualifies as "easy mode". Vehicle gameplay in Dust is so much better than those other games because they aren't all built as glass cannons unless you want them to be. Temporary imbalance doesn't meant that we need to gimp an entire set of playstyles.
Never said doing things in dust takes no skill but which is harder, getting hit in a tank, pulling turning on ur repairer and backing up to a place were no one can see you, or piloting a dr[ship that sways with every round you fire and projectil that hits you, all the while every guy with a gun can see you.
I fly a dropship and they arn't attak ships.
I alos don't understand what you mean by saying "Temporary imbalance doesn't meant that we need to gimp an entire set of playstyles" what that jets would be very dangrous therefor they shouldn't be in the game? |

Athena Sentinel wrote:I believe they are developing another game for jets to connect with dust and eve. It supports Ocular rift. http://evevalkyrie.com/That is CCP official site.
Oh, I'm sorry, was Valkyrie around when dust was in beta? Is Valkyrie the thing that drew people to play this game in the first place? I don't beleave so, Valkyrie though impressive was just something they made on an off day to show off the Oculus. Its nice but I and others don't own it, and its exsitance dosen't not negate nor distract from the issue that CCP can make jets in Dust. CCP has not brought jets into Dust. CCP can bring in jets to dust. CCP has shown that they can make air vehicas. CCP HAS SHOWN THEY ARE WORKING ON JETS.
Saying that Valkyrie is a thing does not mean that because it exist jets can't be in Dust 514, ehich is what I feel you are alluding to. |
