So you are asking "Beers whats so wrong with eve sov?" I'll give you the short version since you asked nicely.
-null sov favors very large organizations (coalitions/alliances/corps) -with large entities the idea of wars and or grinding becomes a deterent because of the time involved and the economic realities. Hence the big KITTEN blue donut that is nullsec. Staging wars for good fights isn't what ccp intended sadly, but all thats left to do with the current mechanics. -passive isk generation benefit corps/alliances not the individual pilots. Just because alliances offer ship replacement doesn't mean the individual is being being rewarded for their efforts. -The shear amount of isk/assets that already exist in eve in the power blocks have made it impossible for any smaller groups to ever challenge. This is a legacy issue and part of the reason why CCP initially looked at dust as a possbile isk sink for EvE.

The economic factor is actually a bigger deal just 'blue-n-up" because it create a long term barrier to entry. I've always disliked passive isk model. CCP has ruined any chance pc 1.0 to be viable to the general player base.
I have benefited as a former leader and personally by passive isk farming but refuse to be hypocrite about it. At the same time if ccp cuts passive isk with the passive isk model there wouldn't be much difference in our behavior. I mean why would a corp say 843 try and attempt to take a few districts when there is no isk in it. We will be back to the isk sink of open beta that everyone hated. That said, pc 2.0 needs to come sooner than later.
My whole point in posting this was to highlight that PC 1.0 was doomed to fail before hand because ccp designed it and told us after. They seem to be doing the same thing now. There is suppose to be a fanfest reveal of the next dust 2.0. Which they are doing in secret just like they did uprising 1.0.
CCP is terrible at game play decisions

CCP is terrible at game play decisions Yes I agree, that was basically my whole point. The passive ISK is stupid. I don't remember everyone hating the Open Beta model, I in fact loved it. Everyone I know has said they loved corp battles, and back then ISK farming wasn't a problem.
It wasn't that the open beta corp battles were disliked. It was that ccp had planned for dust to be an isk sink for eve players (bad idea) and CB was an isk sink for dust players. There was no way to earn isk in open beta beside afking isk farming if you remember.
In open beta I was running IE and we had lot of newer players that wanted to do PC battles to train but they only had a few months worth of sp and not very much isk. I know some of them (me included) had to afk isk farm in pubs so i had that 2 mill isk to burn in that nights PC. It wasn't even about proto suits you could run 120k all advanced assault suits.
Anyways, the isk build up that corps are getting do give them an almost impossible advantage under current pc design. I hope pc 2.0 goes away from dust mercs owning districts andmore working for eve nullsec alliances for active farming for both eve and dust. Mutual need/benefit is the goal i would have. If ccp opens this to all of nullsec everyone from elite vets to dust noobs could make isk and be a part of the one universe concept from day one.

Not a chance in hell I work for free for ccp. Plus its more fun to tell them how bad they are in public. If I could only do that behind the scenes I'd be no better than hans.

The community has a whole understands dust better than ccp does and I refuse to give ccp a way out of involving the greater community. I may dislike someones idea but i would rather ccp engage with the community instead of going off a few peoples opinions and understanding of the game.
1.8 shows you that even under the dust savior CCP rouge ccp is still the old ccp and that can't QA to save their life.
