Really? The CEO of my corp is loving the CalSen and hasn't been complaining of insta-kills. He seems to be doing quite well on the battlefield. Maybe you have to unlearn what you have learned? Or try a different tactic than what you use? The CalSen can do some damage.

It's not built for CQC .Even with the bonuses and the fact that it's a " heavy " it weak because it's shield based .

Like the previous Cal Assaults , shield based anything in this game doesn't work without some efficacy .

If your not running proto and your CQC with most , you will die .

Not enough armor as well with only one low slot .

You can have all the shields in the game but if you don't have some efficacy and you come against armor ... most of the time you will loose and if you don't you would have been hit so many times that you would KNOW that you we're in a fight .

In the world of Dust , armor trumps shields ... hands down .

well, i do really like it: bot because it is a glass cannon (forge ftw) and because it can reach an insane regen with a huge tank so it is the perfect bite and run heavy. Moreover, if you tank with two extenders and two shield recharge you have almost the same ttk of a fully tanked Gal Heavy against an HMG.

why are you running extenders? they don't add significant tank to be worth the slot. fit it with the shield regen mods take a little damage, fall back, recover, push again, you will gain HP fast enough that enemies wont be able to keep up and will die.

I'm running a standard Caldari sentinel with a complex energizer, enhanced extender, enhanced regulator, MH-82, toxin SMG, and standard flux grenades and it's goddamn fantastic.

Stop trying to use shield suits like they're armor suits. It's a skirmisher, not a brawler. If you're not behind cover or moving in between cover, you're doing it wrong. Learn to strike, take cover, and draw your enemies to you as you regen. It's not rocket surgery.

So the problem is that you're being dumb and moving out in the open with no awareness of terrain and cover options and without the slightest idea where enemy troops are or more than likely will be located - the absolute weakest position an HMG heavy can ever possibly be in - and complaining that you're dying quickly there.

1) CalSen shield is our strength but considered our weakness.
Since we are more shield based, we have more maneuverability. Use that. Never stay out in open for long periods of time. You pop, drop and don't stop. CalSen is like boxing. You have to stick and move. Everyone mistakenly thinks a Cal will fall quicker because its shield based. Outsmart your opponents and use their over zealousness against them. Flux grenades are laughable.

2) Your secondary weapon is your cover
I have a Magsec as my secondary. Thanks to TTK, when a RR hits me, I have enough time to switch weapons and back him up with suppressive fire. That affords me time to move into proper cover. As a heavy, cover, crates, buildings-anything that decreases my hitbox is invaluable to my strategy. Use suppressive fire to gain ground. The idea is not to hit the target more so that it is to make the opponent seek cover.

3) Let em soften them up
It's okay to allow your teammates to run ahead of you to soften up the competition. Some might think its stupid since I'm a heavy and consider me the bullet vacuum but its not. Mercs soften up the competition and I pull the rear on the flush out, sending opposing mercs into a frenzy to run for the hills. You are a heavy, so you are priority target in a killzone. Learn how to manipulate that to your advantage.

Are you trying to run around solo in a Heavy Suit... With no logi support or Scout. Because that would be really stupid way to lose 95k

I can kill solo heavies in almost any fit. But a heavy with a good logi repper is unbreakable - they don't even walk on the ground because they just step from body to body

well, I'm not saying you have to, it works great for me with 2 extenders, 2 energizers and 1 regulator. Just tried the "ubertanked" one and it works wonderfully against any other heavy. I suggested you the brick tanked one because maybe you miss the point of shield tanking: hit and hide, wait 3-4 seconds, then hit again at full shields.

A: I know what you said, and I know you're not smart enough to distinguish what is or is not considered "open" for a heavy.

2: Since you're inevitably going to riposte point A, there's also the fact I was in several matches with and against you the other day. In all of them you moved like a newb and performed sub-par all around.

In short, learn to fight like a shield tanker.

I take down every heavy easy except the cal heavy, and some over hp tanks(over 1300 armor tank, cant kill them fast enough before they turn on me)

But idk maybe you are just bad at being a cal heavy, maybe its not for you. The people who can play this class though, they are deadly. Kinda your fault for skilling into it without even trying it first. Oh and btw you should have known caldari heavies werent tanks, they are regen heavies ( out of all the viable fits i've seen on the cal heavy not one was a tank, most hp was 800 shields i think) and if i get the amount of sp i will probably skill into it, that if i finish having fun on my scout.

Stack shield rechargers, energizers and regulators.
