i play eve since 2 years and have a industry empire with a pos close to jita.
i run 2 accs with 5 chars and can buy my plex with the money i make from the T2 produktion, while my next goal is now FW and orbitals for caldari FW.
is eve boring? maybe.. but i see it as a experience to play a game that cant die, because you lose your stuff when you die and this will make you farm and farm and farm, unlike games like WoW where you play till you have the best gear and then get bored, because you have nothing left to do. EvE is growing more and more over the years... a 10 year old game that gets more and more players every month.. thats outstanding compared to the lifetime of other games.
so then.. i love my pos, that i only have, because we hold a moon close to jita.
i def it and based on the fakt that i didnt pay RL money for 1,5 years by now (2 accs would be 30Gé¼ per month) i think that i'm "winning" eve in my own way. i dont think that i can say this to any other game that i ever played before.

i'm a gamer, so anything that i do in a game is "a waste of time", while eve has a marked and is a social experience.
eve is 10 years old, dont you think that a moon 4 jumps from jita would be taken by now if i dont fight for it?
sure, its "lost time", but making inventions with my research char, while i play dust and then start the produktion from time to time and transport it to jita, while i can fly incursions if i want to is just as exiding to me as playing sim city, theme park, transport tycoon or any other game that i liked, plus its in space...
eve has a story that is deep and it is going on... and on.. and on...and every thing you to ingame makes you become part of it, because you create your own content (you where afk in station? maybe you where not creative enoth or didnt had the patience)
do you even know the story behind dust? the research lab that the amarr found and then made the mercs, the story behind caldari prime?
i started eve as gallente, because i wanted to fight for them, i found it stupid that they took amarr ships for FW, because the % resis was better for PvP (at this point i was a noob) and the gallente carrior would be a PvE carrior, while my greed for ISK lead me right to jita.
i learned about the sansha and how they raid planets to enslave people to make them to "borg zombis" and wanted to fly the big ships, so i joined TvP. i learned what was behind the fight about caldari prime in "day of darkness 2" ( http://youtu.be/xhVFsvWfqfM ). terrorists blow up a gallente city and the military then attacked all caldari for it.
since i learned about "admiral october" i left gallente space and moved to caldari space with my gallente char. my second alt was born as a caldari, "my a so far unknown mother". my old main is a fighter, carrior, dreadnought pilot and the silent head of my corp, while my inventor is his right hand. my "new main" is now my FW char and will soon move out into lowsec, while the 2 others also have "there role" in my empire.
getting the standing for the 0.7 pos was a long and hard grind for me and taking the moon was the most satisfying experience i ever had in a game. saving up for the billions that i need for the capital BPO's to build capital ships and going into siege mode with my to come dreadnought and destroy the gallente stations and bring down revenge for what they did is my next goal.
or maybe i will fight the sansha in nullsec or move into a wormhole. maybe CCP will lead us into jove space....
i just love sci-fi and since stargate is death, i have nothing left to watch. but i have eve..
based on the fakt that the fights and the gafiks get better and better.. i have no reason to leave EvE at all.
i can agree that eve is "boring", but only if you dont know what to fight for. once you got your reason.. its the best game out there
