This is so far the funnest and best balanced version of DUST I have played since closed Beta.
Scouts? viable and arguably FOTM (there will always be a FOTM) but I think it is just people playing with cloaks Cloaks? Working but counterable. I have used them to great effect and stopped those using them just the same. Heavies? Lethal again Logis? Are actually logis and not bricked Assaults Assaults? Now the "jack of all trades master of none" like they should be All the rifles are balances and the higher TTK is much more fun and makes the game feel more tactical instead of twitch. My laser rifle is now something that can almost counter snipers if I get a bit closer and the damage is more inline with others. My Viziam is now worth using as it actually does more damage. Shotguns? Working very well with cloaks to close range. Snipers? always viable and my new sniper fits with cloaks are fun as I can protect myself better running from point to point. Tanks? As one of my characters is a dedicated tanker I haven't played with him as much lately but I think the hardener nerf is fine.
I am just really enjoying this game again and applaud CCP to getting the core gameplay down better where now I feel they cna really work on fixing PC and getting DUST integrated into EVE more and make DUST matter for Null sec sov (where the meta game will REALLY come into play) |

I took a while to adapt,(and almost quit on Thursday) but now I'm having loads of fun. The game feels more "tactical" and there is more versatility on the field. Can't wait till we get racial vehicles, weapons(full), and pilot suits.
Well, time to go Commando. Fill the Ranks at 703rd.

The new commandos should have a better paint job. Look at the Amarr one!

I was running Gallente Scout suits since Closed beta since those were my bread and butter sniper suits. I also used shottys but died to much trying to close range. The cloaks help with that but I still get spotted from time to time.

1.8 may be the best DUST has ever seen for Scouts and Heavies, but everyone else mostly got screwed.
Logis and Assaults are pretty whack right now. They get absolute crap equipment or weapon bonuses that are hardly useful as is. Scouts on the other hand got the typical CCP balance treatment of swinging the pendulum too far.
Seriously, CCP has no concept of "baby steps" when it comes to balancing. It's like, people cry about tanks sucking so 1.7 comes and they completely break them and we get vehicle spam for 3 months. Scouts and heavies then continue to cry and now 1.8 makes Scouts outclass medium suits while Heavies are put in a good place.
There's nothing about Assault suits that makes them worthwhile over a Scout suit. And Logi suits have become marginally useful because of being limited to specific equipment to make use of their bonuses. It's pathetic.
Scouts and Heavies on the other hand get these broad-spectrum bonuses that apply no matter how you fit them. Scouts get the equivalent of several cardiac regulators, kinetic catalyzers, profile dampeners, precision enhancers, range amplifiers, shield regulators, and shield rechargers worth of bonuses. It's just sad that CCP focuses all their attention to "balance" Scouts and Heavies and in turn buffs them to the point that medium frames become borderline useless.

so far i think its ok . tank are in a good place if they fix the fg from shooting 'scouts are ok just forces more squad play and less solo and thats a good thing .do think plates need there old speed debuff back . logie if the are leashn a heavy should get our resist. might help not sure .still think rails and combats do just a tad to much damage to shields just a little .i love ambush again about fkn time they did something right . hit detection is a little off but over all ................8/10 for me on 1.8 ......not to bad ccp |

The Amarr is arguably one of the only useful suit bonuses but there's still the issue of suit bonus disparity. Why do Heavies and Scouts get broad bonuses that apply despite how you fit the suit, while Assaults and Logis are forced into specific weapons/equipment. At the same time, half those bonuses are absolute crap (25% reload is 0.75s on a Rail Rifle. 25% dispersion on an AR is borderline meaningless since Sharpshooter already makes the AR pretty much dead accurate).
Consider this: if CCP had the used the same philosophy they used on Assaults and Logis, then Scouts would have bonuses such as "+5% to efficacy of Profile Dampeners per level" or "+5% bonus to efficacy of Codebreakers per level" or "+5% efficacy to cardiac regulators per level".
Does that seem fun to you? Then why should Assaults and Logis have to face that type of discriminatory bonus? It completely negates the point of suit customization. I like Caldari Assault but I don't enjoy the Rail Rifle. According to CCP, I'm out of luck because my bonus now becomes completely useless (it already is anyway).

1.8 is the most fun i've had on Dust since Chromosome, Still some things need to be fixed, but, my hopes that Dust may reach its potential is growing.
