Thinking about the two, i found myself wondering how each suit performs compared to its name. For me personally assault suits= assault troops=ww1 German storm troopers, heavy infantry for assault purposes . When i think of commandos i firstly think of British commandos of ww2 well armed mobile troops equipped to sow chaos among the enemy.
So Firstly i would ask that Assault and Commando suits have there names swopped. doing this i believe would put our present assault suits in a better place ,they now would have a role .
Secondly ,this is a little more painful for scouts sorry ,Remove the grenade slot from scout/light frames. This change would mean that only basic mediums and present assaults would have light+sidearm+grenade+equipment.
At this point we have slightly nerfed the scout but the roles for each frame are better defined and the only problem i see is the amarr logi which would probably require a nerf in hp or removal of its sidearm.
As i see it after a change like this we would have basic frames as our basic infantry/riflemen,adaptable to most situations, the present assault would be a mobile well armed and adaptable commando,a specialized infantry.
The present commando would become the storm trooper, the breaching troops used primarily for assault , heavy infantry.
I believe the scouts could give up the grenade without sacrificing there role but i am sure some scouts may see this as a step to far, but i think that the 3 small changes proposed , would fix our suit role balance issues.
its just an idea that's rattled around in my head since the commando was first introduced .

If the name is important to you keep it np its just a word ,but i still feel given the frames stats the role best suited to present assaults is a commando role, mobile well equipped and well armed, but that is just how i perceive what a commando is .
The main change is that only basic med and assault frames would have light weapons/sidearm/grenade/equipment combination available to them, making them the most versatile frame/suit in game. |

Ahh the first link made me smile the second lol.
You may be correct ,but arni's version and all others are the successors of the original commando ,just like the present Royal Marine Commando's,the Parachute regiment, SAS and SBS.
Would a Commander send slow moving troops (dust commando's) on a mission similar to Operation Musketoon/
Claymore or would dust Assaults be better suited?
I Guess im trying to say Commando's should not be slow heavy infantry , that position is filled by the Storm trooper or Assault troops, thus the reason i requested Assault and Commando names be swopped.
